Along with his career as a BTS member, he also established himself as solo artist on the sidelines. He not only released solo tracks, such as Singularity, Inner Child, etc., through the group's albums, but also rolled out independent songs on SoundCloud, such as Winter Bear, Snow Flower feat. Peakboy, and more.

However, his official debut wasn't until September 2023, when he released his first solo album, LayoVer, with Slow Dancing as the title track. Soon after his solo debut, in December 2023, he enlisted in the military for his mandatory service along with RM.

The tracks include FRI(END)S, Winter Ahead feat. Park Hyo-shin, and the posthumous collaboration with Bing Crosby, White Christmas.

With the idol back from the military, fans and netizens have been eagerly looking forward to more solo activities from Taehyung in the coming days.
