Lee Jun-ho, Kim Hye-joon, Kim Hyang-gi & more confirmed as the cast members of upcoming Netflix drama Cashero

On Thursday, April 18, 2024, Netflix confirmed Lee Jun-ho, Kim Hye-joon, Kim Hyang-gi, and Kim Byung-chul as the cast members of the upcoming drama Cashero. The drama is based on the Kakao Webtoon of the same name which illustrated the lives of ordinary humans possessing supernatural powers. The webtoon was written by Lee Hoon and illustrated by No Hye-ok.

Netflix shared the photo of Kim Byung-chul, Kim Hye-joon, Kim Hyang-gi, and Lee Jun-ho posing together with the card of Cashero on its official social media pages. The drama is creating much anticipation among fans due to the stellar cast members coming together on one screen.


Netflix's superhero K-drama Cashero: Cast explored

In Cashero, 2PM member Lee Jun-ho—best known for his role in the hit Netflix romantic comedy King the Land—is making a comeback as a superhero.

As per reports by Soompi, Lee Jun-ho will play Kang Sang-woong, an ordinary civil servant working at a community center. He has a big dream of buying a huge house and gains strength through supernatural powers in proportion to the cash he has.

Meanwhile, actress Kim Hye-joon who recently appeared in Shop for Killers alongside Lee Dong-wook will play Kang Sang-woong’s love interest in the upcoming drama. Kim Hyang-gi will play Bang Eun-mi who possesses power through her calorie intake and Kim Byung-chul will portray the lawyer who gains strength after getting drunk.

It is helmed by the renowned director Lee Chang-min who has worked in comical series such as Welcome to Waikiki and the workplace drama Agency. The drama is written by screenwriters Lee Je-in and Cheon Chan-ho who previously worked together in Sisyphus: The Myth starring Park Shin-hye.

As Lee Jun-ho's character, Kang Sang-woong, gains power through the amount of cash he holds, this makes him empty his wallet to save the world leading to his doom.

Kim Min-sook played by Kim Hye-joon is Kang Sang-woong’s long-time girlfriend with a realistic and analytic mindset. She firmly believes in competency and when she first sees Kang Sang-woong’s surprising abilities with her eyes, it busts the calculators. Kim Min-sook thinks that his work is inefficient, however, she still stands by him and shows him full support in his endeavors.

On the other hand, Kim Byung-chul who showcased his acting skills in popular dramas Doctor Cha, Sky Castle, Descendants of the Sun, and many more is set to play the character of a lawyer. This lawyer gains power when he gets drunk and his job is to fight an unknown organization that takes down supernatural heroes like him.

When Kim Byung-chul's character, the self-proclaimed head of the Korean Association of Supernatural Persons, finds out about Kang Sang-woong's abilities, he suggests he work together with him to save the world.

Meanwhile, Sweet Revenge, Along With the Gods and Poong! The Joseon Psychiatrist star Kim Hyang-gi in Bang Eun-mi's role will showcase the quality of a great team player with a slightly brazen and bold personality.

Kang Sang-woong, Bang Eun-mi (Kim Hyang-gi), and the Lawyer will showcase great synergy through their teamwork in the drama against the evil creating chaotic situations in the world.
