On November 28, former EXO member Luhan kickstarted a livestream on the Chinese online platform Douyin. During the livestream, the idol spent some time conversing and interacting with fans through the comments section. As he continued the stream, he began to play EXO's The First Snow, coinciding with the snowfall in Beijing, where the idol stays.

While playing the song, Luhan also started to sing along. Initially, many fans were surprised that the idol played the Korean version of the song instead of the Chinese version, given that the idol is Chinese and is most likely more comfortable with the Chinese lyrics.

Furthermore, fans were shocked by the idol's comments while singing the song. Although the idol initially seemed skeptical about singing The First Snow, he expressed that it was okay since he doesn't care about SM Entertainment anymore. He added that since Lee Soo-man, the founder of SM Entertainment, has left the agency, it doesn't matter.

"Can I play it? I don't care about SM anymore, anyway, Lee Sooman is gone. so I'm going to play it since it's snowing in Beijing too," the idol stated.

Following this revelation and his gesture, fans took to X to share their responses. They praised the idol for singing along to EXO songs. One fan on X tweeted:

"my inner child is starting to heal"

Fans reacted to the idol singing along to the EXO's songs and praised him.

"for non-kpop people, this is like if zayn started listening to what makes you beautiful on ig live," stated a netizen.
"can’t believe that luhan is talking exo related stuff, luhan you’re the reason why I am into exo," said a fan on X.
"My 13 yr old self would have sobbed in a convenience store," added another fan.

Meanwhile, fans and netizens talked about how they became nostalgic after hearing the idol singing EXO's The First Snow.

"don't touch me this is such an important event for 14 year old me what the hell," commented a netizen.
"dude i know some 2014 girlies from school would have collapsed if i told them of this in big 2024," added another netizen.
"if you told me luhan would touch first snow before any other exo member two years ago i would’ve laughed at you," said an X user.
"Zayn being nostalgic for one direction and Luhan being nostalgic for exo," commented another user.

All you need to know about former EXO member Luhan and his departure from the group

Lu Han, or Luhan, is a former EXO member who debuted under SM Entertainment in 2012. He was part of the sub-group called EXO-M, which included all the Chinese members of the group. However, the idol soon left the group in 2014 due to his health issues.

Following his departure, he has been working as a soloist in China. During his exit, he also filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment for the nullification of his exclusive contract. This lawsuit was similar to the one filed by another former member who left the group, Kris.

The statement released by SM Entertainment regarding the idol's departure:

"He had expressed that he wanted to focus on individual activities in China rather than moving as a group with EXO due to health issues, and we were in the middle of discussing his future activities, so this sudden lawsuit is puzzling."

The statement continued:

"However, seeing that, just as in the case with Kris, Luhan filed for a lawsuit with the same law firm in the same way without reason makes us think that after gaining popularity with the group, he is now prioritizing his own personal benefit with disregard for those affected by the termination of his contract."

Following the lawsuit, Luhan and SM Entertainment reached a settlement that allowed him to depart both EXO and the agency to continue his career as a soloist in China.
