On November 30, 2024, BTS' Kim Taehyung's recent track, Winter Ahead, broke the record for the biggest jazz debut in the history of Spotify, recording 4.2 million streams. Taehyung, aka V, surpassed the feat achieved by Icelandic-Chinese singer Laufey with her song From the Start, which had over 1.1 million streams. It debuted at the No. 15 position on the Spotify Global Chart.

For those unversed, Winter Ahead was released on November 29, 2024, through BigHit Music. It was distributed by YG Plus and HYBE physically. The jazz-pop record was a collaborative single featuring V and musical theater actor Park Hyo-shin.

The track radiated a heavy vibe, which showcases a blend of peaceful voice colors of the two artists. It intended to convey that happiness could be discovered in being with someone on their side.

Subsequently, V’s latest milestone circulated on social media and went viral among the fandom. They expressed their pride in BTS' Kim Taehyung, and an X user tweeted:

The fandom showered praise over BTS' Kim Taehyung's latest achievement. They mentioned that he always created timeless music and never worried about the trending elements. Many fans also expressed their desire to see Laufey and V collaborate in the future.

BTS' Kim Taehyung would release a new version of Bing Crosby's White Christmas

On November 7, 2024, BigHit Music announced that BTS' Kim Taehyung would release a fresh version of the late Bing Crosby's White Christmas. The track is the remake of the hit 1942 track of the same name. The physical album would be available in four versions, including Pink and Snowflake, and two vinyl versions, such as Zoetrope Snowflake and Picture Disc.

V previously covered It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, of which Crosby recorded a version of in 1951. He shared a video of his version on YouTube two days before Christmas in 2022.


Kim Taehyung is slated to release White Christmas on December 6, 2024, at 2 pm KST.
