Just hours after BTS’ Jungkook completed his military service on June 11, 2025, a woman tried to break into his Seoul home. CCTV showed a Chinese woman in her 30s repeatedly trying to unlock his front door late at night in the Yongsan District. She had flown to Korea with luggage, reportedly to meet Jungkook after his discharge.
Residents alerted authorities, and Billboard reported that the woman was arrested on-site by Yongsan Police for suspected unlawful entry. The singer has frequently addressed the issue of obsessive fans crossing boundaries. In an earlier live stream, he urged fans to refrain from visiting his home. He said that while he appreciated their love, showing up uninvited was uncomfortable and inappropriate.
Now, the recent break-in attempt has reignited widespread concern among BTS fans. CCTV footage showing the woman attempting to enter his home with her suitcase, and even brushing her teeth, has gone viral, further fueling outrage. An X user, @jikookreports, wrote,
"Listen to Jungkook and respect his privacy. HYBE must take action against the intruder and anyone who continues to violate his boundaries."
Fans flooded social media with pleas to respect the idol’s boundaries. Many pointed out that such incidents may deter the singer from going live again, especially as fans had been eagerly awaiting a personal Weverse live from him, just as other members had done post-discharge.
"I was definitely thinking Jungkook would go live last night since he’s always eager to talk to us when he gets the chance Come to find out a f*ck ass SASAENG tried to break into his HOUSE .. OH F*CK NO," an X user remarked.
"so you're telling me jungkook, who looked visibly exhausted and drained, couldn't even go home after getting discharged because of a sasaeng camping infront of his house for 10 hours," a fan commented.
"she carries her things and waits 10 hours with full confidence!! This Is so scary JK still didn’t breathe and rest a little from military and she receive him like this!!," another one said.
"His privacy keeps getting violated in so many ways all the time, but stalking him? and trying to break into his own house? this makes me sick to my stomach. this is a private residence his HOME not a tourist spot.. please respect jungkook's privacy and understand the importance of boundaries as a fan," a fan added.
Some commented that this woman’s actions might make him feel unsafe even inside his own home. Others urged fans to respect the boundaries as fans, especially when he had earlier addressed the issue.
"This b*ch waited for 10 hrs in front of his home... Also tried to break into his home TWICE!! POLICE WARNED HER BUT SHE TRIED AGAIN AND THEN WAS ARRESTED. Jung kook couldn't enter his own house ON THE DAY OF HIS MILITARY DISCHARGE!! Imagine how immensely stressful & scary that is," a fan wrote.
"the fact that jungkook already had to come out and ask people to not come to his house or send him gifts (far more politely than he needed to btw) and some of y’all still aren’t respecting his wishes shows just how little you actually care about him," another person commented.
"We need to stop normalizing this and stop normalizing saesangs and what they do it’s disrespectful to the idols, and it’s scary for them people need to learn to respect the idol’s boundaries and etc it makes the idols uncomfortable when people do this stuff," a user added.
More about BTS Jungkook’s military return, upcoming activities, and group reunion
This wasn’t the first time Jungkook faced stalker behavior. In the past, sasaengs rang his doorbell, sent food deliveries, and tracked his address. During a military break in December 2024, he got special permission to go live on Weverse, gave fans a quick tour of his new home, and again asked them to respect his privacy.
He expressed concern after seeing YouTube videos exposing his new address and asked fans not to send gifts or letters to his house or military base. Despite his clear requests, the harassment has continued. He said,
"i moved my house so it'd be great if anyone didn't come looking for my house... also the deliveries (gifts) you guys leave, I'm really thankful, but I can't receive them.. there's a lot of deliveries being sent (to the military base) as well... I can't receive them either..if you really want me to send a letter, you can send it to the company."
Jungkook was officially discharged on the morning of June 11 alongside fellow BTS member Jimin. The duo appeared at Yeoncheon Public Stadium, where they greeted the press and fans. Jungkook expressed gratitude to his fellow soldiers and superiors, saying it felt surreal to be back in front of cameras after so long.
Jungkook is now expected to rejoin BTS for their much-anticipated group activities. With RM, V, Jimin, Jin, and j-hope already discharged, only SUGA remains. He is scheduled to complete his alternative service on June 21.
Fans are particularly hopeful for a group appearance during BTS FESTA 2025, taking place on June 13–14 at KINTEX in Goyang, though any participation from newly discharged members is yet to be confirmed.
