On November 27, 2024, fans of BTS Taehyung and Suga expressed outrage over an article shared by BigHit Music, which seemingly overlooked the duo's solo accomplishments. The article, published by a South Korean media outlet, Newsis, highlighted the solo successes of other members but excluded any mention of Taehyung’s recent milestones or Suga’s achievements.

This omission led to accusations of unequal treatment among members, sparking a heated discussion online under hashtags calling for fairness. Fans were particularly disheartened given Taehyung’s solo feats.

As for Suga, fans noted that the artist faced a turbulent year but still maintained significant achievements. Despite a DUI incident in August 2023 that generated widespread media coverage, fans rallied behind him. They supported his previous works like The Last which topped the charts even after eight years of its release.

The shared article instead focused on the achievements of other BTS members, including Jimin and Jungkook, whose recent releases have dominated international charts and awards. While these successes are undeniably significant, fans felt it was inappropriate to exclude the equally noteworthy contributions of Taehyung and Suga.

This sparked allegations of discrimination within the company. Netizens took to social media to express their disappointment. An X user, @EvexEce_kthjjk wrote,

"6 paragraphs for one specific member meanwhile other member receives 2 for each lol The discrimination shows… and if we just talking about music, where is V?."

Here are some more reactions from fans calling out the label for fair and equal treatment of all members:

"BTS IS SEVEN yet here come the company promoting article excluded 2 members. If you want to talk about solo careers, atleast share article that mentioned ALL MEMBERS," an X user commented.
"We kindly ask you to stop sharing articles that exclude any members of the bts. It's important to respect and value all members equally. We expect more competence from the company," a fan mentioned.
"Last time also only these two were excluded... and using articles from that Reporter who spent months in writing shady articles against Yoongi," another user wrote.
"The Tae and Suga erasure is crazy," a fan mentioned.

This marks the second time fans have accused BigHit Music of excluding Taehyung and Suga from such features. Many are now demanding a more balanced and fair representation of all members.

"this the article of your bu/llsht company tell me where is taehyung music recognition?," an X user mentioned.
"sometimes i wonder why hybe and bh didn't handle yoongi's case properly and let the media tarnish his reputation that bad like did something happen between him and the company *not mention tae cuz hhhhhh this is not new," another fan remarked.

BTS' Taehyung and Suga's recent achievements and more

V's debut album Layover (September 2023) dominated global charts such as Billboard and iTunes. It also earned awards like Favorite Debut Album at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards. In addition, his March 2024 single, FRI(END)S, broke records and received widespread acclaim. Fans viewed the exclusion of these achievements as unfair, especially since V's solo career has consistently proven successful.

Suga’s 2016 track The Last topped the US iTunes chart eight years after its release, marking a powerful comeback moment.

Additionally, his concert film, SUGA│Agust D TOUR ‘D-DAY’ THE MOVIE, released in April 2024, became the highest-grossing concert movie globally and the top-grossing film by a K-pop soloist, amassing over $10.16 million worldwide. These milestones were noticeably absent from the article, further frustrating fans.

Both Suga and Taehyung are currently fulfilling their military duty, They are expected to return to the spotlight as a group after all seven members finish their service term.
