On June 11, 2025, Park Ji-min and Jeon Jung-kook, better known by their stage BTS names Jimin and Jungkook, officially wrapped up their compulsory military duties in South Korea. Not long after their return, they made a joint live appearance on Weverse.

During the livestream, the pair recalled a specific moment from their stay at the army barracks. Jimin shared that he was asleep when he began hearing a loud, construction drill-like noise in his dream.

When the BTS' main dancer woke up, he noticed Jungkook lying nearby, snoring. He explained that their beds were placed next to each other, and Jimin’s was the last one in the row.

Jimin mentioned that he often heard the same sound during his rest, thinking it was coming from machinery, only to find Jungkook asleep with his head resting on his arm. As explained by Jimin, BTS maknae's face was right next to his face. He then pushed Jungkook's face into the pillow.

"I guess i wanted to lean on you," the latter said.

Six BTS members have now returned to civilian life

BTS' Jimin and Jungkook wrapped up their compulsory military terms on the morning of June 11. The pair had been assigned to the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, since enlisting on December 12, 2023.

Once formal discharge steps were completed at the base, they proceeded to the Yeoncheon Public Stadium located in Yeoncheon-eup, Yeoncheon County. Their departure from active duty concludes a service period of one year and six months.

With their return, six of Bangtan's seven members have now finished their national service. A day before, on June 10, group leader RM ended his term with the 15th Infantry Division in Hwacheon County, Gangwon Province.

V was also relieved from his post on the same day, having served with the 2nd Army Corps in Chuncheon City, Gangwon. Jin and j-hope had exited the military last year and have since rejoined their schedules individually.

Suga, who has been fulfilling alternative service as a public worker, is set to complete his assignment on June 21. With only one member still enlisted, BTS is expected to reach full civilian status later this month.
