On June 10, 2025, BTS members RM and Taehyung concluded their national duty and reemerged publicly in Chuncheon, situated in Gangwon-do. Their separation from the armed forces took place at the 15th Infantry Regiment, where admirers, press representatives, and bandmates gathered to bid them farewell.
RM appeared in his official attire and performed a melody using a saxophone. V showed up shortly after, carrying bouquets while acknowledging the supporters. The crowd responded with applause when the pair exited the base. As seen in the videos doing rounds on social media, the duo responded briefly to a media inquiry. When questioned about their immediate goals, RM shared:
"We want to have a concert, perform on stage. We'll hurry and make an album, and return to the stage."

Based on their statements, the K-pop act is preparing to resume collaborative engagements, though specific scheduling has not been disclosed. However, supporters’ enthusiasm is already soaring high.

BTS idols RM and Taehyung commenced their military duties back in December 2023, entering separate battalions for their individual assignments during the standard 18-month service period. RM completed his responsibilities with the 15th Infantry Division’s band unit, based in Hwacheon. On finishing his duty, he shared a photo collage in uniform on his Instagram account on June 10, 2025.
On the other hand, the Winter Bear singer joined the elite Special Duty Team (SDT) within the 2nd Corps’ Military Police Division, located in Chuncheon. The SDT is famed for its rigorous drills and selective entry system.
One day prior to his release, the 29-year-old posted a carousel of candid shots online, which featured snapshots with actor Song Kang and filmmaker Park Chan-wook.
RM and V are among the members who stepped away from group performances to fulfill their patriotic commitment.
Meanwhile, BTS' Jimin and Jungkook are set to finish their military service on June 11, 2025. Previously, Jin and j-hope were the first to finalize the service. With that, six Bangtan Boys will return to civilian life.
SUGA is still completing his alternative service. Due to health-related reasons, he’s serving as a social service worker. His release is organized for June 21, 2025. By the end of June, all seven members will complete their mandatory duties.
