A rumor surfaced recently that veteran actor, producer, and narrator Morgan Freeman reportedly confronted the White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt about racism and inequality on live television.

The viral claim first appeared on the readtime.online or Read and Know site on May 28, 2025. The post included a collage of Freeman and Leavitt’s images with the caption:

“Karoline Leavitt was mercilessly lectured by Morgan Freeman on the topic of R@CIST and INEQU@LITY on live TV! When she tried to defend her point of view, Morgan Freeman responded with words so sharp and profound that it made her speechless.”

It continued: “This tense moment left the audience ‘holding their breath’ and caused a storm on social media with a series of heated debates! GT”

Regardless, the viral interview claim is fake. Morgan Freeman did not face off against Karoline Leavitt on live TV, nor did he ever lecture her on racism and inequality.

Fact-checking website, Lead Stories, tagged the rumor as “fictional.” It debunked the claim and called Read and Know a “spam network.”

Meanwhile, Snopes has since refuted the rumor, labeling it as an “AI slop” or cheap, low-quality content generated by artificial intelligence, including vague and long texts, digitally altered images, and videos.

Moreover, the Google search engine did not reveal any existence of the alleged interview between the Oscar winner and Karoline Leavitt. No major media outlet reported on the same.

Morgan Freeman did not lecture Karoline Leavitt on live television

Last month, an anonymously listed website, Read and Know, made a false claim that Morgan Freeman upbraided Karoline Leavitt on inequality and racism that reportedly left her at a loss for words.

“The tension in the studio was palpable, with the audience seemingly ‘holding their breath’ as the exchange unfolded. Freeman's thoughtful yet cutting remarks quickly dominated the conversation, turning the segment into one of the most talked-about moments of the broadcast," it read in parts.

The Read and Know article continued:

“This heated confrontation sparked a storm on social media, igniting fierce debates and discussions nationwide. The clash between Leavitt and Freeman not only highlighted the gravity of these societal issues but also showcased the power of honest, unflinching dialogue on live TV.”

However, it, too, did not have any verifiable evidence to back the rumor, nor did it have any listed author or publisher mentioned.

Subsequently, the Facebook page Promise reposted the viral claim. The post garnered huge traction with over 148K reactions and 28.7K comments. However, it did not provide any credible sources to support its claims. Instead, it later took down the post.

Later, in early June, Facebook pages such as Together We Rise, Military Technology, Emotional Damage, and News Across America also reposted the claim verbatim, using different images of Freeman and Leavitt. However, these too have no factual basis and could be labelled as parody or satire meant for virality and sensationalism.

Snopes reported that AI-detection apps such as Quillbot and Grammarly also concluded that the content on these Facebook pages was misleading and AI-generated.

This is not the first time rumors about Hollywood celebrities confronting Karoline Leavitt have surfaced. Earlier this year, a similar claim emerged surrounding Robert De Niro and the White House Press Secretary that has since been refuted by Snopes, the YouTube channel Chandan K Vlogs, and other fact-checking sites.

In May 2025, Jimmy Kimmel was falsely claimed to have kicked out Karoline Leavitt of The Tonight Show.
