New information has seemingly leaked online, adding further hype to the already much-anticipated crossover of Deadpool & Wolverine, which is set to hit the theatres this July. Along with several other recognizable faces, Marvel also seems to be teasing an appearance by Taylor Swift in the film.

One of the first teases came a few months ago in February when Marvel uploaded a poster on Facebook, which featured three bracelets similar to the one made famous by Swifties during her The Eras Tour. The post seems to have added fuel to the rumor that Taylor Swift would be appearing in the film. Now it looks like the Grammy-winning artist herself hinted at her upcoming Marvel debut.

New song lyrics hinted at Taylor Swift's appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine

Recently, Taylor Swift released her 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department. In one of her tracks, Clara Bow, the lyrics seem to have led to several fan theories and speculation. Swift's lyrics go as follows:

"You look like Taylor Swift in this light, we’re loving it/ You’ve got edge she never did/ The future’s bright, dazzling."

Fans have taken these lines to mean that she is alluding to her upcoming appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. The very idea of a "dazzling" future seems to posit that she will play the character of Dazzler, who is a mutant musician.

Dazzler, or Alison Blaire is a character that has made multiple appearances in the X-Men series of comic books. She first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #130 in 1980. She has the capability to transform sound into light and energy, thereby dazzling audiences.

Her popularity stemmed not only from her depiction but also from her notoriety in the LGBTQ community. As a musician, Dazzler is the perfect character for Taylor Swift to play.

Everything we know about Deadpool & Wolverine so far

The possibility of Deadpool and Wolverine sharing a screen has always been a dream for many fans. The fact that it is becoming a reality is hardly surprising, considering the hilarious interactions between the two mutants every time they share a storyline in animated shows or comics, or even noting the real-world dynamics between their actors.

For some time, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have been teasing their upcoming crossover with quips aimed at each other, something that the characters they play have also been prone to doing. Fans are especially excited about Jackman returning to portray his iconic character after several years, with his last appearance as the same happened in Logan in 2017.
