Tori Spelling, the renowned actress, author, and television personality, recently had a candid chat with Shannen Doherty, who was a guest on the April 24, 2024, episode of Spelling's podcast, misSPELLING. During the episode, Doherty admitted that her biggest fear is never finding a man who matches her status.

In response, the host noted that this is also the reason why she stayed married to her second husband, Dean McDermott, for a long time. During the conversation, Spelling noted:

"We're not just women who make money. We're women that have power, we're women that have fame. I don’t know any different. I feel guilty. Like, how am I ever gonna be with a man and he doesn’t feel like less than me just because of my status?" she said.

McDermott and Spelling married in 2006 after getting separated from their former partners. However, in March 2024, Tori Spelling filed for divorce from the Open Range artist.

Tori Spelling opened up about reasons why she prolonged her marriage in latest podcast episode

In her exclusive podcast, misSPELLING, Tori Spelling opened up in front of Beverly Hills artist Doherty about what kept her in the marriage despite obstacles, shedding light on a deeper narrative of empowerment and resilience.

Spelling noted:

"One of my biggest fears, and this perhaps did make me stay longer, is I feel like in our world it's difficult to be with a man and have him not feel emasculated," she said.

She continued:

"Not by our doing, but by who we are and have been labeled by society."

In response to Spelling's candid revelation, the guest, Shannen Doherty, said that many men are not concerned with such things:

"There are men out there that don't care about that...anybody that has strong work ethic and who has achieved success in whatever they choose to do is going to have their own status."

Doherty also added:

"There are men that have their own status. Maybe in a completely different field. Maybe a man is a partner at one of the top law firms. So everything he did — going to school, graduating, being an intern, working his way up the ladder — has shown that he's a really hard worker with a ton of perseverance and believes in himself enough in order to get there."

Furthermore, Doherty acknowledged that being a successful woman can be challenging. She stated it can be hard "to be with a woman that can get a reservation at any restaurant." She continued insisting Spelling could find a man who would take her success as his pride.

Tori Spelling, 50, expressed a difference in opinion and suggested that reflecting on her experiences, she "disagrees" with Doherty:

"At this point in my life, and this is all I know right now, I disagree with you."

She continued:

"Every guy that I've ever been in a relationship with, I always say, 'There's a lot sh*t that goes along with me. I'm sorry, there's the Tori Spelling of it all.'"

Earlier this week, on April 22, 2024, Doherty and Spelling recalled their friendship in Shannen Doherty's Let's Be Clear podcast. The duo had worked together in Beverly Hills, 90210.

Hailing from Los Angeles, USA, Tori Spelling grew up in one of Hollywood's wealthiest families. She is the daughter of Candy Spelling and television and film producer Aaron Spelling. As mentioned before, earlier this year, Spelling ended her 18-year marriage to Dean McDermott, filing for divorce on grounds of "irreconcilable difference."
