Record executive and entrepreneur Dame Dash recently opened up about Sean “Diddy” Combs’ friendship with actor and comedian Kevin Hart during an interview with America Nu Network, uploaded on YouTube on October 21. He claimed that Hart was “cool” with him until one fine day when he wasn’t, which according to Dash was allegedly influenced by Diddy.
"Like certain people that were cool with me all of a sudden just stopped, like Kevin Hart, who’s like another person I look at who was on Rock-A-Fella Films, right? Like I discovered Kev," Dame Dash noted.
He also pointed out the viral “tapes” of the Undeclared actor at Diddy’s parties, particularly one where Hart is seen holding a mic and trying to interview Combs. Dame Dash called out Kevin Hart for allegedly dodging Diddy-related questions in public and getting “real serious” when reporters approached him, despite allegedly knowing what happened there.
The Rocawear co-founder shared that if he were still in touch with the comedian, he would ask him, “Yo, what the f*ck you was doing over there?” He explained that he has known Kevin Hart for over two or three decades, so he could “talk like that” with him if the chance arose. He then slammed the Ride Along actor for staying “quiet” about the ongoing Diddy scandal.
“It wouldn’t be like an uncomfortable conversation. You are a comedian. I’d be like, ‘Yo, you had the baby or you was next to the bed? Like you gotta tell me something. And why you being so quiet about it?’” Dash mentioned.
Dame Dash claimed he “discovered” Kevin Hart and even signed him to Roc-A-Fella Films. However, their rapport reportedly went sideways when the comedian became friends with Diddy.
Exploring Dame Dash’s latest remarks about Diddy
Speaking about the bond between the duo, the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder explained that he and the Let Me Explain star “kept up with each other” until Hart was in New York City doing stand-up shows at New York University. At the time, Dame Dash recalled, Kevin Hart was still with his first wife, Torrei Skipper, and was entering “bigger venues.”
However, when the comedian started doing shows at Madison Square Garden, Dame Dash claimed he “didn’t get the call,” and they suddenly “stopped being cool” with one another.
“It was like all of a sudden, the minute he got to a certain level, he stopped calling. And that’s happened with me… and then suddenly there’s a whole new set of friends… and now I see him over there,” Dame Dash said about Kevin Hart.
During his latest conversation with America Nu Network, Dame Dash also expressed that he never realized how Diddy had “so much control over so many people and so many industries” and maintained a “tight-knit circle,” until it started to “affect” him personally and professionally.
“It seems like they all keep a good secret… it seems like they are very loyal to each other. So, if a guy I am having a problem with is over there, and that’s part of their circle of coolness or black excellence or whatever that crew is,” Dame shared.
The 53-year-old continued:
“And that would me I can’t do business or I could never do business with Puff even if I wanted to and probably that to me would mean I can’t do business with anybody else that was in that house… in that club.”
Dame Dash’s recent comments about his alleged Diddy link
Following Diddy’s September 16 arrest and federal indictment, pictures of Dame Dash’s allegedly partying with Sean Combs, Jennifer Lopez, Jay-Z, and his late girlfriend and singer Aaliyah emerged online. However, he clarified during a September 22 Instagram Live how he “didn’t go to those parties,” as in he was not involved in the now-infamous alleged Diddy “freak-offs.”
“I went to one in the Hamptons about 20 years ago with Aaliyah and that’s about it. But a lot of people were at those, you know what I mean? Ain’t sh*t happen in the Hamptons. That’s the day I met [Aaliyah]," he stated.
Dame Dash explained that he and Aaliyah, whom he dated from 2000 to 2001, "hung out" there and left together. He said that he wasn't bothered by those pictures, as he did nothing wrong.
Later, he also told TMZ that he had no idea what Combs was involved in, adding the accusations were “disturbing.”
“I’ve known him for a while. So, these were things I didn’t know. Now, I know,” he said.
Subsequently, he told America Nu Network how he wished to know what went on at these Diddy parties and questioned why there were “no statements” from any celebrities who hung out with the Bad Boy Records owner.
