Rapper and Music Mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is currently held in a Brooklyn federal prison following Judge Andrew L. Carter's ruling against the Bad Boy CEO's request to be released on a 50 million dollar bond.
On September 16, 2024, P. Diddy was arrested in Manhattan on multiple counts of "federal s*x trafficking and racketeering." The unsealed indictment was revealed by the Associated Press a day later, which lists assault allegations going back to the late 2000s.
The document also includes instances of allegations stemming from involuntary "s*xual performances" dubbed "freak offs," which are supposedly connected to the 1000 bottles of baby oil found during Homeland Security's raid at Diddy's mansion.
Sean Combs could potentially be looking at 15 years to life in prison if found guilty on all charges brought against him. The indictment also claims Sean "Diddy" Combs to be running a criminal enterprise, i.e., Bad Boy Records, using his power and influence to coerce those around him.
The document suggests that the rapper and his close associates would abuse their label's influence to mask participation in illegal activities, like s*x trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
"Sean 'Diddy' Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person but he is not a criminal," Diddy's attorney Marc Agnifilo stated.
More recently, on October 1, 2024, Houston attorney Tony Buzbee announced that his firm will represent 120 accusers and confirmed that individual lawsuits will be filed against the music mogul next month.
A complete timeline of all the charges brought against Sean "Diddy" Combs
With the mounting number of lawsuits and allegations already filed against the Bad Boy CEO, with 120 more filings to follow, the rapper's attorney, Marc Agnifilo, issued a public statement. The statement, made on behalf of Sean Combs, was released on the day of his arrest, stating:
"To his credit, Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation, and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court."
Many of the lawsuits filed against Sean Combs came after he settled his "assault lawsuit" with former partner Cassie Ventura on November 17, 2023. Below is a complete timeline of all the charges brought against the music mogul.
1) November 2023 "Assault Lawsuits"
Cassie and Sean first met in 2005 before officially announcing themselves as a couple two months later. The pair ended their relationship in October 2018, with Ventura later filing her "assault lawsuit."
On November 16, 2023, Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against Diddy, alleging that the rapper had s*xually assaulted and subjected her to years of "mental and physical abuse" during their relationship.
Cassie's 30 million dollar lawsuit was settled a day later for an undisclosed amount, with Combs' lawyer citing how the mogul's decision to pay does not change his denial of the allegations and is "in no way an admission of wrongdoing."
Almost a week later, on November 23, 2023, a day before the New York State Adult Survivors Act expired, two more "assault" lawsuits were filed against Sean Combs.
The filing included allegations from an anonymous party and a woman named Joi Dickerson-Neal, with both citing instances of "r*pe" and "s*xual assault" in 1990 and 1991, respectively.
The anonymous lawsuit also alleges singer-songwriter Aaron Hall's participation in assaulting her and her friend after they met at an MCA Records event in New York. Neal's lawsuit claims that Diddy "drugged, s*xually assaulted, and secretly filmed" their encounter while she was still a college student in 1991.
2) December 2023 "Assault Lawsuit"
An unnamed woman, being referred to as a "Jane Doe" accuser, filed a lawsuit against Diddy, which cited instances of "gangr*pe, s*xual assault, and trafficking."
The lawsuit also cites the involvement of former Bad Boy Records president Harve Pierre in engaging in a "forced s*xual performance" with the unnamed party, along with Sean and another unidentified person.
The charges were filed on December 06, 2023, and spawned several discussions online as the lawsuit claimed Jane Doe was "only 17 years old" at the time of her alleged interaction with Sean Combs, who was 34. The music mogul addressed the growing criticism online in a now-deleted Instagram post, where he stated:
"For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged."
On May 10, 2024, Combs' legal team approached a federal judge with a request to dismiss this lawsuit "with prejudice" in an attempt to prevent further reputational injury to the rapper.
"Mr. Combs and his companies categorically deny Plaintiff's decades-old tale against them... Plaintiff cannot allege what day or time of year the alleged incident occurred, but miraculously remembers other salacious details, despite her alleged incapacitated condition." - The court filing read.
3) February 2024 "S*xual Misconduct Lawsuit"
Producer Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones filed the fifth lawsuit against Diddy in New York on February 26, 2024, alleging that he was "subjected to unwanted advances by associates of Diddy at his direction."
Lil Rod also accuses the Bad Boy CEO of forcing him to engage in physical relations with s*x workers at what was referred to as "s*x-trafficking parties," attended by underage girls. The producer cites instances of groping, s*xual misconduct, and harassment, along with details from an alleged instance at Combs' Miami Mansion.
Speaking on the Miami instance from 2023, Rod claimed that he was supposedly drugged and woke up "naked, dizzy, and confused" in bed with Diddy and two escorts. Shawn Holley addressed the allegations made by Rodney Jones in a public statement, denying all the claims when she stated:
"We have overwhelming, indisputable proof that his claims are complete lies. We will address these outlandish allegations in court and take all appropriate action against those who make them."
4) May 2024 "Assault Lawsuits"
Barely a few weeks after Federal Agents and US Homeland Security raided Sean Combs' mansions in Los Angeles and Miami and a video obtained by CNN showing the mogul physically assaulting Cassie Ventura in a hotel went viral, the rapper was delivered his sixth "s*xual assault" lawsuit.
"The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light," Cassie Ventura's lawyer stated.
The claim was brought forward by former model Crystal McKinney, who filed the lawsuit in Manhattan federal court on May 21, 2024. The model accuses Sean of coercing her into performing "oral s*xual acts" by giving her laced alcohol and marijuana.
Crystal cites that the alleged assault took place in 2003 in the bathroom of a New York City recording studio. Her lawsuit also lists the mogul's Bad Boy Records, Universal Music Group, and Sean John Clothing as defendants, who she claims were aware of Combs' behavior but continued to put him in "positions of power."
Two days later, plaintiff April Lampros filed a lawsuit against Sean Combs in New York, alleging claims of s*xual assault stemming from "four terrifying encounters." The allegations cite three instances of "r*pe" and one incident of the rapper forcing Lampros to consume ecstasy, all of which seemingly occurred between 1995 and 2001.
5) September 2024 "Arson Allegation"
In a memo submitted to New York Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky on September 17, 2024, by US Attorney Damian Williams, an instance of "alleged arson" was discussed. The memo cites Sean Combs' unnamed "co-conspirators" for setting a convertible car on fire.
The report claims that the vehicle's top was sliced open, and a "Molotov cocktail" was dropped inside the interior. Police and fire department reports were referenced as well, which seemingly confirm the arson was intentional.
The report closely mirrors an incident mentioned in Cassie Ventura's November 2023 lawsuit, where she alleged that Sean Combs set fire to Kid Cudi's car in a fit of rage, suspecting the INSANO rapper of being involved with his former partner.
6) September 2024 "Assault Lawsuits"
Mere days after Diddy's arrest, Thalia Graves filed the eighth lawsuit against Sean Combs on September 26, 2024. In the lawsuit, Graves alleged that Diddy used the power and influence of Bad Boy Records "in a sick and twisted way" to encourage an in-person meeting with her in 2001, where she was allegedly r*ped.
The meetup was supposedly held at a Manhattan studio and was supposedly centered around the discussion of the accuser's boyfriend's "live performance issues."
Thalia recounts being offered a glass of wine, which seemingly made her feel "lightheaded, dizzy, and physically weak" before eventually losing consciousness. The plaintiff claimed Sean and his bodyguard Joseph Sherman drugged, r*ped, and recorded her, detailing instances of "power abuse" and "intimidation."
A day later, another "Jane Doe" lawsuit was filed against the music mogul by an anonymous party who claimed they were s*xually assaulted multiple times.
The filing accuses Diddy of "drugging and r*ping" the plaintiff, requesting an undisclosed amount of damages for physical injuries, severe emotional distress, humiliation, anxiety, and other harms. The party also claimed that she became pregnant after one of her encounters with the rapper.
7) October 2024 "Tony Buzbee lawsuits"
On October 1, 2024, Texas-based lawyer Tony Buzbee issued a public statement at a news conference held on Tuesday, citing that over 3,000 individuals approached his firm with severe accusations against the music mogul.
Tony confirms that from the 3000 cases brought forward, his firm has agreed to represent 120 lawsuits, with several other filings still under review. The lawyer also cites his firm's intention to treat each of these allegations as individual lawsuits against Sean Combs and confirmed that he and his team would begin filing these lawsuits within the "next 30 days."
A lot of information regarding these 120 lawsuits is still under wraps; however, Buzbee confirmed that the names from these cases will "shock" onlookers and will be revealed at a later date.
"Violent s*xual assault or r*pe, facilitated s*x with a controlled substance, dissemination of video recordings, s*xual abuse of minors." -Tony Buzbee on the allegations brought forward in his 120 case file.
On September 9, 2024, before his arrest, Sean "Diddy" Combs was served a 100 million dollar default judgment stemming from an alleged instance of "s*xual assault" dating back to 1997.
As per the Lenawee County Circuit Judge's court order, Diddy was required to pay the $100 million to inmate Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith for reparations for the alleged instance from over 30 years ago.
