Kanye West released the music video for his Bomb song on November 28. The music video that comes from his studio album Vultures 2 featured his children North and Chicago West. Netizens have since taken to social media to react to the same.
The song, which included Kanye West taking the backseat with his singing, featured rapper Yuno Miles, who made use of simplistic lyrics and rhyming. The singer crooned in the song:
“Put some hot sauce on my Doritos, baby/ Put some hot sauce on my Cheetos, baby/ Why my feet smell like Fritos, baby?/ Do you want some tacos, baby?”
In the music video, North and Chicago West drove through a deserted landscape, chased by furry beasts in go-karts. Hot New Hip Hop compared part of the song to the iconic pod-racing scene from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999).
This is not the first time his children have appeared on his albums. North West also showed off her propensity for rapping on Kanye West’s Vultures 1 track, Once Again/ Talking.
It did not appear as if the music video was taken well by many. One X user said:
"bro is using AI on his OWN DAUGHTERS 😭," wrote one user.
Several others seemingly trolled the music video, with many criticizing West’s new style of music. Some comments online read:
“What has kanye west music turned into,” an X user said.
“Why do we have ai music videos sigh,” another platform user said.
“Sorry but this is horrible,” a netizen commented.
In September, Kanye West performed with his children, North, Psalm, Chicago, and Saint, at a Vultures 2 listening event in China. West’s wife, Bianca Censori, was seen at the event as well. Meanwhile, other reactions read:
“This kinda style scared me as a child and still makes me uncomfortable,” a platform user said.
“He really used Ai for his video and it looks terrible I’M DONE,” a netizen commented.
“Kills me what Ye’s down to his discography the past couple years,” a netizen commented.
Despite West garnering heaps of backlash online, some were pleased to see West enlist his children in his projects. Comments online read:
“I like how Kanye always involves his daughter Salute,” an X user said.
“Coolest dad ever award goes to,” another platform user said.
Pitchfork rates Vultures 2 4.6 as Kanye West drops Bomb music video
Vultures 2 is the sequel to Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s first album drop. The latest album includes the songs SLIDE, FRIED, HUSBAND, LIFESTYLE, ISABELLA, THE MOVING SLOW, FIELD TRIP, PROMOTION, and FOREVER, among others. Some featured artists that showed up on the album were Don Toliver, Lil Wayne, and Lil Durk.
Addressing the album’s supposed lackluster qualities, Pitchfork said in their review:
“VULTURES 2 is even shoddier in construction and execution than its predecessor. This is frat rap for bitter baby d*ddies and aspiring trad husbands—kings, I guess. Andrew Tate probably loves it. I’m not sure how anybody else could.”
Vultures 1 received a 5.8 from the same publication with critics praising Ye's and Dolla $ign's lyrics delivery. The publication said:
"There are no such loose ends here. VULTURES is filled with moments where West breaks into his airy, endearing singing voice—an ideal counterpoint to Ty’s delivery which sounds, as ever, like silk and sandpaper at once."
Meanwhile, Ye was also hit with a lawsuit days ago by former America’s Next Top Model contestant Jenn An. The former model alleged that she was s*xually assaulted and strangled by the musician while filming West’s and La Roux’s In for the Kill music video back in 2010.
