A new set of allegations against music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs have surfaced. Prosecutors for the Southern District of New York wrote a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, in which they claimed that Combs had been violent towards his staff members and romantic partners.
In the letter, which was obtained by The Mirror, the prosecutors accused the rapper of hitting and punching his staff. According to the letter, the staff members have seen the defendant do the same to others as well. The letter read:
"[Staff members] have described the defendant threatening to kill them, throwing objects at them, and being struck, punched, and shoved by the defendant, and seeing him do the same to others."
The report also alleged the Combs was violent towards women and he kicked, slapped, and dragged them by hair. The documents further accused him of coercing, manipulating, and extorting women. The report additionally stated:
"He [intimidated] women, including by displaying firearms, threatening them, showing up at their homes unannounced, and attempting to beat down the door — on one occasion with a hammer."
These accusations have emerged amid the numerous lawsuits that are filed against Combs.
Decision on whether Diddy would be released on bail is still pending
While the prosecutors have been trying to keep the 55-year-old rapper detained, his attorneys have made another attempt to get him released on bail. The request was made to the court on November 22, 2024.
The bail request consisted of a $50 million bond along with being under 24/7 security. As per the request, the record producer would also not be allowed to reach out to anybody apart from his family and team. As reported by HotNewHipHop, Judge Subramanian was yet to decide on the bail request.
If the bail request doesn't get approved, Diddy will stay detained until his trial begins next year. He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The prosecutors reportedly argued that Diddy would be a flight risk if released on bail before the trial.
In the aforementioned letter, US Attorney Damian Williams and his legal team also gave a response to the bail request filed by Diddy's legal team. According to Williams, the Combs had a "history of obstructive conduct." The letter further read:
"The defendant’s history of obstructive conduct is part and parcel to his decades-long pattern of violence, which must be considered along with his obstructive conduct to fully assess his dangerousness under the Bail Reform Act."
It also added:
"A holistic view of his obstructive and violent conduct, that is still happening presently—makes clear that there is no way to rebut the applicable presumption of detention in this case."
The defense team had already applied for his bail thrice and got rejected each time.
If the bail gets approved this time, then Combs would be residing in his New York City's Upper East Side residence. Diddy has further pleaded not guilty to all the accusations made against him involving s*x trafficking and racketeering.
