British-American rapper 21 Savage has been featured on Drake's latest single, It's Up, alongside Young Thug. The Toronto rapper dropped the track on his Instagram Stories on August 6 as part of 100 GB of unreleased content, including two other singles, Blue Green Card and Housekeeping Knows featuring Latto.

Upon the release of It's Up, the internet claimed that 21 Savage sneakily dissed Kendrick Lamar in his verse.

“Made a couple songs, think he hot now/ Hit his a*s up, he think he Pac now,” Savage rapped.

However, 21 Savage’s manager, Meezy, reportedly texted podcaster DJ Akademiks, claiming, “That definitely ain’t no shot at Kendrick.” Meezy seemingly also indicated that the lyric was meant for another rapper.

After Akademiks posted about it on Instagram, several people reacted to it. For instance, X user @nee_dles commented on NFR Podcast’s repost of Lil AK’s reel by writing:

Several others joined in the conversation and had similar reactions, comparing K-Dot to a "boogeyman" and speculating that Savage was "scared" of him.

“Bro called AK to clear the diss allegation asap,” a person wrote.
“Kendrick really the boogeyman,” one person wrote.
“21 Savage got scared of the boogeyman,” another person wrote.

Many claimed that the No Heart rapper and his team were making sure not to “embarrass” themselves or accidentally start a “beef” with Kendrick Lamar.

“21savage bout to be 21garbage if he starts beef with K-dot lol,” a netizen wrote.
“Lmao he knows not to diss him because he gonna get embarrassed,” one netizen wrote.
“Trying to make sure he’s not next on Kendrick’s list,” another netizen wrote.

In brief, exploring 21 Savage’s latest collaboration with Drake

On Tuesday afternoon, Drake dropped It’s Up on Instagram Story as part of a “three-track, self-leaked, unreleased album” titled 100 Gigs For Your Headtop. In the song featuring Young Thug and Savage, the trio discusses women, luxury lifestyles, guns, drugs, and more.

At one point, Savage raps about an unnamed rapper, saying that the person considers himself Tupac Shakur after releasing a “couple” of hits. Besides, the line “I move to L.A., I’m a Clipper” was also speculated as a diss at Kendrick Lamar.

However, 21 Savage’s manager, Meezy, allegedly confirmed to DJ Akademiks that K-Dot was not shaded by the American Dream rapper and it was meant for someone else. However, no other name was mentioned. Lil AK, too, chimed in, saying that the lyrics couldn’t be a shade at Kendrick as he has multiple hits. He also requested fans to "quiet down" the rumors.

21 Savage shares a close relationship with both Drake and Metro Boomin, a longtime friend and associate of K-Dot. In fact, he has collaborated with both of them on multiple projects, including his 2016 EP Savage Mode with Metro and Drizzy’s 2017 single Sneakin’. Not only that, but Savage also partnered up with Kendrick in the past for Murdaz and Betrayal, among others.

As a result, the star hadn’t engaged in the infamous rap battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake earlier this year.
