Popular dancer and choreographer Drea Kelly has recently commented on Beyonce's relationship with her haters. The ex-wife of the currently imprisoned R. Kelly, who teaches dance fitness and burlesque classes in Atlanta, recently went viral on TikTok and other social media platforms.
Her dance routine, based on Beyonce's Cowboy Carter song II Hands II Heaven, sparked a massive TikTok trend, with celebrities like Donte Colley and Chloe Bailey also trying their hand at it.
In an interview on the Reality With The King podcast on December 10, Drea Kelly discussed Beyonce's haters. She elaborated on the quintessential haters' behavior and how they allegedly love spewing hatred.
“They’ve called her a witch, ….she knows what’s it’s like to be in a space where people create narratives about you, they love to hate you..but they’re always watching what you’re doing.. haters are the MVP, having perfect attendance,” commented Drea Kelly.
Netizens have taken to X to react to Kelly's comments. Some popular comments on X are as follows:
"Her haters her biggest fans," a fan commented on X.
"Perfect attendance is correct!!" added another.
"I don’t like how people forget about Drea. She was the business! For Beyoncé to pay homage to you, you’re a star!" one fan chimed in.
In addition to her comments on Beyonce's haters, Drea Kelly also revealed that Queen Bey never choreographed the dance moves to her songs. One fan reacted to Kelly's comments, saying:
"What did she mean that Bey doesn’t do the choreography to Cuff It or Sweet Honey Buckin?"
"I don't see nor hear one lie. When Beyoncé mimicked Drea Kelly dance that was a homage. Whereas the viral cuff it and other viral dances to Beyonce's songs she has not done it because she knows those people would turn on her in a heartbeat," added another.
"The way Drea turned Beyoncé doing a tik tok dance and explained it as Beyoncé choosing her because they’re both women of the same cloth who have had narratives painted about them that aren’t true. Like girl wtf does that have to do with Beyoncé doing a 10 second viral dance," another fan opined.
"I mean the backup dancers did add a little to cuff it on the tour. But gone ahead speakkkk Drea!!" a user wrote on X.
Some other reactions are as follows:
"This is not a fan page how could you post this video?? Someone saying B don’t do her own choreography," a fan commented.
"Is she comparing herself to Beyonce? LMFAO. girl knock it off," another added.
Drea Kelly explains why she kept her ex-husband R. Kelly's last name

During the December 10 interview, Drea Kelly also discussed her husband, R. Kelly, and why she kept his last name despite being his ex-wife. She explained that she faces severe criticism for keeping R. Kelly's last name, and people have compared her to Tina Turner.
The dancer and choreographer highlighted the multiple facets of her relationship with her ex-husband. In addition to being a dancer and choreographer, Drea Kelly was also a mother of her children. Addressing the critics, she said:
"You don't even know what I do? You don’t even know what my profession is, and at the end of the day, how do I bring to the table when I am the table?"
Talking about her comparisons with Tina Turner, who also kept her ex-husband Ike Turner's name after divorce, she said:
"Because you can’t clock what I do, because you haven’t done your research, you think it’s okay to go on the internet and say, ‘She don’t do nothing, Tina Turner did something.’ The only difference between me and Tina Turner is she sang on the stage with Ike, I danced on one with Robert."
Finally, Drea Kelly opined that she would live with the 'Kelly' name like her kids and would not pay heed to the haters.
"It’s my kids’ name and my analogy is this, when all the s**t hit the fan, how would you feel if your name is Brown and your kids name is Brown, and your family goes through something, and you tell your kids, ‘Oop! You a Brown by yourself, I’m out!'," she said.
R. Kelly was convicted of eight counts of s*x trafficking and one count of racketeering in 2022. Shortly after, he was found guilty of child s*x abuse in Chicago. In 2023, the 57-year-old was found guilty of child p*rnography too.
Kelly is currently serving a 31-year sentence in Bunter, North Carolina, and is expected to be released in December 2045 at the age of 79.
