On Wednesday, June 11, Sabrina Carpenter took to her Instagram handle to announce her seventh studio album, titled Man's Best Friend, with pictures of its cover art attached to the post.
The singer also revealed that the album was dropping two months later on August 29.
Later on Wednesday, @PopBase shared the news of Carpenter's new album in a tweet on X, which has since gone viral, receiving more than 44 million views, 150K likes, 32K retweets, and 2.5K comments.
Netizens have been reacting to it, with one of them commenting:
Some netizens praised Carpenter for taking after Mariah Carey and Britney Spears and releasing a new album annually.
Meanwhile, others were seemingly unimpressed by what appears to be the album's cover art. In the picture, Sabrina Carpenter is dressed in a black dress and matching heels, and kneels on the floor in a dog-like position, with an anonymous man standing next to her, grabbing her hair.
The second picture in her post is a zoomed-in image of a furry dog's collar, with a golden heart-shaped pendant hanging from the belt and "Man's Best Friend" engraved on it.
Sabrina's new album already has a Spotify countdown page, with 12 tracks listed on it, and the first one revealed as her recently released song, Manchild.
She dropped the new single last week, on June 5, with its music video dropping on YouTube a day later (on Friday, June 6). It has since received more than 18 million views and 818K thumbs-up on the video platform.
