In July of this year, tensions arose between rapper Nicki Minaj and her former talent manager, Deb Antley. The latter recently appeared on an episode of The GAUDS show, released on YouTube on November 25, 2024. During the conversation, Antley shared her bond with Minaj while she was managing her.
She stated that she was allegedly offered money to stay away from the rapper. Antley added:
"See, it ain't a dollar out there, they offer me $5 million to get away from Nicki. I needed that $5 million. But you can't pay me enough, you can't do that to me. I ain't never gotta speak to her again in life but that's my child."
She further continued:
"It doesn't matter. She can talk about me, she can say whatever she wants to say. She could do whatever she wants to do..."
Antley then mentioned that people didn't expect to see her on tours with Nicki Minaj. The issue between Deb Antley and Minaj allegedly began when the former spoke about trying to sort things out between Minaj and Lil Kim. On an episode of the Opionated Truths podcast, Antley was asked if she had contacted Cardi B or Kim and mediated their alleged issues with Minaj. To this, Antley replied:
"And to be perfectly honest with you, and [Nicki Minaj] gonna kill me for saying even this, but I did reach out to Kim."
Antley then admitted that she contacted Kim, who allegedly didn't seem too fond of the idea. The remarks reportedly prompted the rapper to lash out at her now-former talent manager. Minaj allegedly expressed her anger towards Antley and stated that the rapper had never asked her to reach out to any of the aforementioned rappers to sort things out.
For those unaware, Deb Antley is a popular name and has managed several hip-hop artists in the music industry, including OJ Da Juiceman, Nicki Minaj, French Montana, and Waka Flocka.
Deb Antley mentioned that she was proud of who Nicki Minaj had become and also described her as being "timid" in the past
While Antley opened up about allegedly being paid to keep away from Nicki Minaj, she gave more insights into her bond with the rapper at the time. The former talent manager seemed quite proud of Minaj and how far she had come in her life. She spoke about her experience of managing the rapper and said:
"I was hard because... She was a very very timid girl. I said 'you gonna make it.' I was determined she was making it and I wasn't playing with her."
Antley continued stating that she would get emotional whenever she saw Minaj's shows. She further added that she never preferred talking about the rapper to other people and wanted to keep away from feuds.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Antley described the rapper as hardworking and that Minaj had been handling more than just her music. The former talent manager said:
"She's a business woman first. She's beyond an artist now."
The alleged feud between Minaj and Antley seemingly ended shortly after it began when the latter was seen joining an Instagram live session with the rapper on July 5. On July 6, Antley also publicly apologized to Minaj and expressed her affection for the rapper.
