Franky Venegas, who gained recognition as a member of the hip-hop duo, Island Boys, was recently arrested on May 24, 2024. The charges against him include reckless driving without a valid license and showing a fake ID to the cops. NBC 6 South Florida reported that he was immediately transported to the Broward County Jail.

Further details related to the circumstances leading to Franky Venegas' arrest are yet to be disclosed by the authorities. Local 10 states that his bond is currently set at $800 and his brother Alex took to TikTok after the arrest and wrote:

"Free him. Flysoulja x kodiyakredd real brother got you."

Island Boys have accumulated almost 6.5 million followers on the official TikTok page and the brothers gained recognition after a short video featuring them singing near a pool started trending on social media platforms in 2021, as per Business Insider.

Franky Venegas was involved in another legal issue last year

Also known as Kodiyakredd, Franky Venegas has run into legal troubles once previously. He was arrested on charges of domestic battery from Airbnb at Pompano Beach on May 6, 2023. Complex states that he reportedly argued with his girlfriend following which he attacked and pushed her to a pool.

The dispute emerged from an incident where Franky Venegas' girlfriend reportedly saw him with another woman, as per a police report acquired by Coral Springs Talk.

The victim also suffered injuries to her chin, legs, and arms, and hit her head after being thrown into the pool. The case was eventually dismissed on May 16, 2023.

In another instance in 2022, Franky's brother Alex's girlfriend reportedly made similar claims against the former. The victim's identity was not revealed at the time and the incident happened at a house rented by both the brothers at 6375 NW 120th Dr.

While narrating the incident to the Coral Springs Police, the victim said that Franky Venegas tried to get her out of the property by calling his security, which reportedly resulted in a physical battery. The police report also stated:

"[She] refused to leave the home and was sitting on the bed making a telephone phone call when Frank walked up and slapped the phone out of her hand."

The victim allegedly ran towards a bathroom and remained hidden until the police officers arrived.

Island Boys and their successful journey explained in brief

As mentioned, the duo's video went viral in 2021 and it eventually became meme material. Business Insider states that the views in the video started to increase at one point and the brothers were approached by Kodak Black to join his record label.

However, the brothers decided to pursue a solo career and were seen in a Cameo video where they motivated others to be a part of the Army. The brothers revealed in the No Jumper podcast in 2022 that they were involved in several legal issues before their successful careers.

While the brothers were sent to prison, they decided to pursue a career in rapping. Alex recalled the same by saying:

"When I was locked up I had a lot of people were trying to be rappers, so I'm like, f*ck it, I'm gonna dive into the game. The only thing that's good for me is robbing, which is not good, or rapping."

The brothers have got two albums under their credits, 17 and Trendsetters. They even released two EPs in 2021.
