Hip-hop magnate Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested by federal agents on September 16 from Park Hyatt Hotel on West 57th Street, Manhattan, New York City, in the wake of a grand jury indictment. The exact charges against him remain undisclosed at the time of this writing.
“Earlier this evening, federal agents arrested Sean Combs, based on a sealed indictment filed by the SDNY (Southern District of New York). We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time,” United States Attorney Damian Williams told the press.
Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo shared that they were "disappointed with the decision" and believed it was an "unjust prosecution."
“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person but he is not a criminal,” Agnifilo added.
He further mentioned how Diddy has been cooperating with the investigation and "voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges." The lawyer added that the artist had "nothing to hide," and his legal counsel was looking forward to "clearing his name in court."

All you need to know about Diddy’s recent arrest and ongoing legal troubles
On Monday evening, the FBI took Sean “Diddy” Combs into their custody from a high-end hotel in Manhattan, New York City, where he had been living for several weeks in the wake of his unsealed grand jury indictment. However, the charges against him remain unknown at the time of writing.
Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that the FBI previously raided two homes of Diddy in March this year, one in Los Angeles and the other in Miami, as part of an ongoing Homeland Security Investigations (HIS) reportedly dealing with the multiple accusations of s*x/ human trafficking, s*xual assault, and illegal narcotics and firearms possession and distribution.
At the time, bureau agents reportedly seized firearms and multiple electronic devices from both locations, while many of his associates were detained and subsequently questioned, including his two sons Justin and Christian Combs.
Back then, Diddy’s legal counsel described the federal raid as a “gross overuse of military-level force” as well as an “unprecedented ambush – paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence – leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits.”
For those unaware, Diddy has been facing many lawsuits since November last year beginning with his former girlfriend Cassie who accused him of abuse, assault, and trafficking. Others too followed in her footsteps and sued the Bad Boy Records mogul including videographer Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones, and more recently adult movie star Adria English, singer Dawn Richard, and Michigan prisoner Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith. Diddy has maintained his innocence throughout.
