Notable sprinter Gabby Thomas has expressed her thoughts on Coco Gauff, as the tennis star recently opened up about managing pressure. Gauff became the 2025 French Open champion after defeating the Belarusian player, Aryna Sabalenka, in an epic final at Philippe-Chatrier, Paris.
Gabby Thomas established her reputation on the international track stage at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she won three gold medals. In the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, the Atlanta, Georgia, native captured a silver and a bronze medal. She also graced Michael Johnson's Grand Slam Track and was crowned the slam champion in its first slam, which took place in Kingston, Jamaica, from April 4 to 6.
Through her latest Instagram story, Gabby Thomas reflected on Coco Gauff's mindset of navigating through the pressure of playing in the final of one of the major tennis tournaments, the French Open.
"Sooo real"

The winner of two Major titles, Gauff, shared her thoughts via Tiebreak Tennis' official Instagram post.
"Everyone is dealing with way bigger things in life than losing a final. At first I thought it'd be the end of the world if I lost. And, you know, the sun still rose the next day. So knowing regardless of the result, the sun will still rise. Just realizing how big the moment seems in our lives is not as big in the grand scheme of things."
Gabby Thomas has also clinched two medals from the World Championships and the World Athletics Relays.
Gabby Thomas reflects on her Philadelphia Grand Slam Track event

The elite sprinter recently participated in the third slam of the Grand Slam Track, which was held in Philadelphia from May 31 to June 1, 2025. In her signature event, the 200m, she clinched the second position, and registered a fourth-place finish in the 100m race event. Through her recent Instagram post, she shared her views on her performance.
"Not the Slam results I hoped for, but when you race as often as I do, you can’t win em all. On the bright side, this is the best I have ever ran at this at this point in the season!! Heading back home to continue training hard."
She continued,
"I’m so so grateful to everyone who continues to support me on my journey, win or lose- rain or shine. I love this sport sm and I’ll see you guys on the track very soon!!!"
In the previous slam, which was held in Miami, Thomas registered fourth position in the 100m and took the top spot in her signature event.
