Alica Schmidt is gearing up for the 2025 track season and has shared a glimpse of her indoor track workout session. The German athlete wrapped up her 2024 season after competing in the Paris Olympics.
Schmidt did not have the expected results at the 2024 Summer Games and has now shifted her focus to the 2025 season. She has been frequently sharing glimpses of both indoor and outdoor training sessions. After recently changing her track event from the 400m dash to the 800m dash, the athlete is spending most of her time training.
She recently shared a bunch of videos on her Instagram stories, which showcased her practicing different exercises. She was seen running to-and-fro on the indoor track multiple times. She wrote in the story:
"Wait for the end💀😂. "

In the last video, after she concluded her exercise, she was seen completely exhausted and lying down on the mat. She wrote:
"Finished😅. "

Alica Schmidt's experience at the Paris Olympics did not pan out as expected as she couldn't qualify for the finals of any event. She first competed in the women's 4x100m relay, where her team earned a seventh-place finish in Heat 2 of the race, leading to their disqualification from the finals.
Following this, she competed in the mixed 4x100m relay event, where her team again ended up in seventh place in Heat 2 of the race, eliminating them from the final round. This shattered the Olympic dreams of the German athlete.
Alica Schmidt opened up about her Paris Olympics experience

After falling short of achieving her goals at the Paris Olympics, Alica Schmidt shared a heartfelt post on her Instagram handle in which she opened up about her experience at the 2024 Summer Games. She said even though it did not go well, she learned a lot of lessons. Schmidt accepted that she was not in the place where she wanted to be as an athlete but would keep trying to improve her skills.
"The Olympics are not just about winning medals," Alica Schmidt wrote. "It‘s about being alongside inspiring athletes while competing at the highest level. Showing ambition, celebrating diversity, and people no matter who they are and where they are from."
Reflecting on her journey, she added:
"The past weeks were an emotional rollercoaster, and I was able to learn a lot. As an athlete I am still not where I want to be, and maybe I will never be. But the one thing that is for sure: I will never stop trying and figuring out ways to improve."
Alica Schmidt will be running in the 800m in the 2025 track season. Her personal best for the event is 2:05.22.
