Following the 2024 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships, Olivia Dunne reacted to the LSU Tigers' securing their first national championship title.

The LSU Tigers collected 198.2250 points to clinch their first national championship on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. The Golden and Purple squad defeated the No. 3 California women's team who secured 197.8500 points.

The Tigers surpassed the No.5 Utah Red Rocks gymnastics and No. 4 Florida Gators as the teams bagged 197.8000 and 197.4375 points, respectively. The Tigers posted 49.450 points on the bars and 49.400 points on the vault.

The Tigers' senior, Dunne took to social media to express her joy and elation on her team's historic feat. She shared a picture posted by the LSU Tigers where the players are lifting the trophy, in her Instagram story and wrote:

"Best day ever!"

She further shared a champion post by the Tigers and wrote:

"Natty Champs Baby," adding a purple heart and a ring emoji.

The purple and gold pack registered 49.6125 points on the floor and 49.7625 points on the beam. The Tigers advanced to the national finals for the 10th time in the 2024 season after scoring a total of 198.1125 points in the semifinals on Thursday, April 18, 2024.

Olivia Dunne marked her prospect as a pivotal player in the team. The senior, however, navigated through an injury-stricken year.

The gymnast was benched for a major part of the time in the 2022-23 season after suffering multiple injuries. During an interview with ESPN, she reflected on her junior year, stating the challenges she went through.

"I mean gymnastics is the sport where you use your whole body all the time. so you get injuries all over your body. I dealt with shoulder pain, I had torn labrums, Shinde splints, and stress fractures, and broken ankles but I mean it's all worth it in the long run," (at 3:00).

She further also reflected on her senior year, highlighting it as the pinnacle of her physical condition.

"I’ve learned to kind of love it this year because this has been the best physical shape I’ve been in since I’ve been in college."

Although the LSU Tigers secured their historic feat at the National Championships, creating a wave, Dunne's absence was impossible to ignore.
