Gabby Thomas recently responded to a fan, who claimed that she was the inspiration behind her coach's decision to have them run miles. Thomas made history at this year's Paris Olympics, claiming three gold medals and inspiring future athletes.

Thomas wrapped up her 2024 season at the Athlos NYC, finishing second in the 200m event. Following that, the Atlanta native is relishing her downtime away from the track, engaging with fans on her social media. This was evident when she posted a fun TikTok video on her account captioned "As a coach, we should never make any athlete run over 150m ever!!!! It is abuse if we do!!" As a 200m runner, it was a fun moment for her fans.

In the comments of the video, one fan expressed their pain, writing:

"I love how you the reason our coach was inspired to make us run miles."

In response, Gabby Thomas stated:

"You'll be soo mentally tough."

In her second Olympic Games in Paris, the Harvard graduate became America's first female 200m Olympic champion since Allyson Felix achieved the feat at the 2012 London Olympics. She defeated St. Lucia's Julien Alfred to stand atop the podium in 21.83 seconds and claim the first Olympic gold of her career.

She then helped the United States achieve two more gold medals in the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay events. In the 4x400m relay, Thomas, with the help of Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Shamier Little and Alexis Holmes, achieved a historic victory, marking America's eighth consecutive gold in the event in a national record time of 3:15.27 seconds.

In a September interview with Self, Gabby Thomas shared that she has developed a mindset over the years that keeps her motivated to step on the track and makes the sport truly special for her.

"When it comes to feeling hot, it’s all about a mindset that I’ve cultivated through my training, style, and little rituals. First, nothing makes me feel more confident than stepping onto the track knowing I’ve put in the work," she said.
"Mental confidence is a huge part of my sport, and the energy that comes from knowing I’m at my strongest is what truly makes me feel fabulous. So every day, I’m building the habit of training consistently, working hard, and pushing my limits, she added.

Besides her track excellence throughout the season, Gabby Thomas recently teamed up with Sports Illustrated for their upcoming swimsuit issue.
