"Get ready for vacation content" - Olympian and Influencer Alica Schmidt starts month-long trip after maiden appearance at quadrennial games in Paris

Alica Schmidt has revealed her off-season plans after competing at the Paris Olympics. Schmidt qualified for the 2024 Games in the 4x400m relay but failed to make it to the final.

The German sprinter was part of the Germany team that won silver in the 4x400m relay at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships. She also competed in the same event and won a bronze medal at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships. The 25-year-old was selected to be a part of the German relay squad for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she traveled as an alternate for the mixed relay team.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she was part of the 4x400m mixed relay squad but failed to qualify for the final. In her recent Instagram spot, the German posted about the start of her vacation amid the athletics off-season.

"Off-season has started get ready for 4 weeks of vacation content #vacation #offseason," her caption read.

The picture carousel featured her in a chocolate brown dress, posing against a railing with the sunset in the background.

After the Paris Olympics, Alica Schmidt penned a note on her Instagram, expressing gratitude to have shared the track with inspiring athletes and celebrating diversity.

"The Olympics are not just about winning medals. It‘s about being alongside inspiring athletes while competing at the highest level. Showing ambition, celebrating diversity and people no matter who they are and where they are from," Alica Schmidt wrote.

She also called her Olympics stint an 'emotional rollercoaster' and acknowledged the lessons learned from the experience.

"The past weeks were an emotional rollercoaster and I was able to learn a lot. As an athlete I am still not where I want to be and maybe I will never be. But the one thing that is for sure: I will never stop trying and figuring out ways to improve," she added.

Alica Schmidt was part of Germany's mixed 4x400m relay team at the 2024 World Relays in the Bahamas, leading up to the Paris Olympics. After qualifying for the Olympics, Schmidt said that it was a "dream come true."

"My biggest dream came true! In just one month, I will be in Paris," her Instagram post read.

She also expressed gratitude to her family for their unending support.

"A big thank you to my family who always have my back and support me no matter what," she added.

At the 2022 European Athletics Championships, the 25-year-old finished fifth as part of the 4x400m relay team. She also won a silver medal in the 400m at the 2022 German Indoor Championships.
