Three-time Olympic medalist Mikaela Shiffrin is on the verge of achieving an extraordinary milestone of 100 World Cup race victories, a record that has never been touched in both men's and women's alpine skiing combined. Shiffrin opened up her 2024-25 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup season with 97 wins, and she has already added two more, leaving her one victory shy of the historic feat.
The 29-year-old opened up the current World Cup season with a giant slalom event in October in Soelden, Austria, but faced an unexpected defeat. Later, however, she made a strong comeback on the Levi Black course in Finland to win her 97th World Cup race.
Shiffrin then continued her winning streak with a 0.55-second triumph over Albania's Lara Colturi in the Gurgl slalom, claiming her 99th career win. The Colorado native is now set to compete in front of the home crowd as the competition returns to Killington, Vermont.
The Killington Ski Resort is set to host a giant slalom race on Saturday, November 30, followed by a slalom event on Sunday, December 1. Fans will be anticipating the event with bated breath as it is on course to possibly mark Mikaela Shiffrin's historic 100th FIS Alpine Ski World Cup victory, a record unmatched in the history of alpine skiing.
With all that being said, let's explore how fans can tune in to watch the Killington event.

"There is a bit of pressure around it" - Mikaela Shiffrin on racing in front of the home crowd
Reflecting on her emotions about racing on home soil, Mikaela Shiffrin acknowledged the added pressure of aiming for her 100th victory. However, she expressed her desire to focus solely on winning and block out the pressure as she said:
"I guess there is a bit of pressure around it, but I'll try to ignore that. Anyway, if it happens, it's wonderful. If it doesn't happen, kind of nothing to cry about in the grand scheme. But I hope to have a really good performance in front of the home crowd."(via ESPN)
Killington is one of Shiffrin's favorite ski tracks, where she has claimed victory in six of her 13 races and stood on the podium three additional times. But the skiing icon has yet to win a giant slalom at this venue.
