Several US swimmers such as Katie Ledecky, Gretchen Walsh, and Kate Douglass graced the 2024 Golden Goggles Award ceremony in Indianapolis held on Saturday (November 23). Ledecky and Douglass were nominated for the 'Female Athlete of the Year' category but lost to Torri Huske.
Unlike Ledecky and Douglass, Walsh bagged an award in the event as she won the 'Breakout Performer of the Year.'
Ledecky bagged four medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, including two gold medals in 800m free and 1500m free while Huske bettered the tally with five laurels. Notably, it was also Huske's first prestigious Golden Goggles Award.
In glimpses from the event shared by the US Swimming Instagram handle, Ledecky was seen wearing a dress with red and blue shades on it. Kate Douglass and Gretchen Walsh, on the other hand, were spotted in sleeveless blue and green dresses, respectively, in the ceremony.
Male swimmers such as Bobby Finke and Carson Foster were also featured in the posts.
