Lindsey Vonn recently visited Madrid and being a fan of tennis, was present at the Madrid Open 2024. She was spotted cheering for her favorite tennis players from the stands as well as extending support to them on social media.

Ever since Lindsey Vonn retired from professional skiing, she has explored different business avenues and careers but sports always remained a constant in her life. From investing in the Utah Royals FC to supporting athletes playing various sports, she never let the athlete in her fade away.

Vonn took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her day at the Madrid Open along with pictures with World No. 1, Iga Swaitek, and Coco Gauff. Swiatek recently opened up on her conversation with the Alpine skiing legend during a post-match press conference.

“I feel like for sure she’s the person to talk to if I need advice or I just want to talk to somebody who’s cool, because she’s really cool. We’ve been actually kind of talking about also, the mental game here. She gave me some tips, so maybe she wanted to be part of the team. But for sure you can feel like, I don’t know, her power even with the way she talks and her confidence. So for sure this is something that I might learn from her," she said. (timestamp- 2:42)

Lindsey Vonn inspired a generation throughout her career as an alpine skier. She became the epitome of a never give up attitude and resilience which is a testament to her bouncing back after several impactful injuries.

Iga Swiatek opened up about being inspired by the skiing legend during the US Open in 2023.

“They are huge inspirations for me. I don't know, I just feel like our sports are kind of connected because these are the only two sports where I feel individual with women having the same events and the same rhythm as guys," she said. (as quoted by Eurosport)

Furthermore, Swiatek revealed that listening to Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin's interview helped her learn from their experiences.

"We kind of have similar experiences, especially I feel that when I hear all the interviews of Mikaela, I feel like we are kind of the same sometimes. So, yeah, it's just nice to have somebody you can look up to, and who shares the same experiences that you can learn from. I'm happy that they are also so open to talk about everything. Yeah, that's pretty cool," she added.

Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek breezed through the third round and will be going against Sara Sorribes Tormo in the fourth round of the Madrid Open.
