Michael Phelps' former coach, Bob Bowman, is doing some tough training with his French pupils. In addition to being the head coach of the University of Texas, Bowman also provides his services to French swimmers Leon Marchand and Hubert Kos.
Bowman recently uploaded a video of the tough regime on his Instagram profile. In the video, Kos and Marchand are seen practicing a single move multiple times, including possibly training with fins.
Bowman captioned the Instagram post:
"Where’s Hubi?? #uncalledfor"
Bowman recently reacted to his prodigies striking gold at the US National Championships. The Texas Longhorns won the team championships with a total of 690 points. The Wolfpack Elite Club was a distant second, with 336.5 points.
An excited Bowman shared the info on his Instagram profile. He captioned the post:
"It was a great week in Indianapolis for the Longhorns! 11 World Championship Team members and 6 going to World University Games. Men’s, Women’s and combined TEAM Champions. Let’s go USA !! 🇺🇸🤘🏼🇺🇸 #TeamTexas"
Bob Bowman had previously given his services to the US swimming team from 2004 to 2012 as an assistant coach. He was made the head coach for the Rio Olympics, which were held in 2016.

Bob Bowman once spoke about the longevity of his coaching career and the key to sustaining success. In an interview with FSU Coach in June 2020, the former coach of Michael Phelps explained how coaching at different levels can be stressful at times.
When asked about how he kept himself stress-free, Bowman replied:
"I think I'm much better now at taking care of myself than I was earlier. I exercised every day. I did yoga."
In another podcast with Unfiltered Waters, Bowman also revealed that his decision to change the swimming routine during his assignment at Arizona State University in 2009 didn't go well.
"I feel terrible about it. I don't think any of us were at our best in 2009. We were kind of both collectively at not great place."
Bob Bowman began coaching Michael Phelps when he met him during his tenure at the North Baltimore Aquatic Club. The two finally parted ways when Phelps retired from swimming after the 2016 Rio Olympics.
