Swimming legend Michael Phelps recently reacted to golfer Dana Fall's hilarious solution to a problem while preparing for Thanksgiving. The golfer suggested using swimming goggles to avoid the tears induced by chopping onions/shallots.
Fall uploaded a demonstration of the same on her Instagram story, tagging Phelps in it. She wrote in the caption,
"When your in charge of the green bean casserole but always cry cutting onions/ shallots @m_phelps00 @speedo"
Phelps not only shared the post on his Instagram handle but also tagged his former compatriot and Olympic champion Allison Schmitt. Phelps wrote in the caption,
"I have thought about it @arschmitty!!"
Schmitt replied in a cheeky tone,
"Live footage of @m_phelps00 any time there's onions to be cut."
Phelps, who is well known for being the most decorated Olympic swimmer of all time, is also an avid golf player. He recently reacted to tennis player Caroline Wozniacki making a comeback to the golf field after a long time.
"Good to be back after a 2-year break! #fore," she captioned her Instagram post.
Phelps reacted to this post by replying,
"Yes!!"
Since his retirement from competitive swimming in 2016, Michael Phelps has been focused on charity work, promoting his swim gear brand alongside former coach Bob Bowman, and playing golf occasionally.
Michael Phelps celebrates Thanksgiving with wife Nicole Phelps
Apart from indulging in banter with golfer Dana Hall and former swimmer Allison Schmitt, Michael Phelps also celebrated Thanksgiving Day with his family. The former Olympic champion posted the photo of a turkey dish, tagging his spouse Nicole Phelps as he wrote on his Instagram story,
"Happy Thanksgiving!"
Interestingly, Phelps has a unique connection with Thanksgiving Day, though not necessarily for great reasons. In 2019, Phelps decided on a 'Thanksgiving Turkey trot'. He would run for 5000m on Thanksgiving day, an idea that didn't go well for him.
In his conversation with NBC Sports, Phelps stated,
“I don’t run, and I don’t do anything outside of the water. I don’t know if I’ll ever do that again. I did win it, so I think I’m going to retire on top there.”
When asked if running 5k was a great idea, Phelps replied,
"That was the worst idea in the world."
Michael Phelps ruled the swimming pool for more than a decade. He won 23 Olympic gold medals, three silver, and 2 bronze medals to emerge as the most decorated Olympic swimmer of all time.
