Caroline Wozniacki's impressive golf skills have drawn a reaction from Michael Phelps, who has 28 Olympic medals to his credit. Phelps, who is also an avid golf player, recently played at The Match: Superstars, a TNT program.
Wozniacki initially retired from competitive tennis after the 2020 Australian Open, where she lost in the third round to Tunisian player Ons Jabeur. Three years later, in 2023, she marked her return and participated in the Montreal and Cincinnati Masters in the build-up to the US Open.
The 34-year-old then received a wildcard reserved for Grand Slam champions, qualifying for the women's singles at the Paris Olympics. However, her stint at the Paris Olympics ended early after she made a second-round exit, losing to American Danielle Collins.
At the 2024 US Open, Wozniacki beat Nao Hibino, Renata Zarazúa, and Jessika Ponchet in the first three rounds before suffering defeat to Beatriz Hadad Mala in a thrilling three-setter.
Months later, the Scandinavian has shifted her focus to golf during her off-season. In an Instagram post on November 26, she was seen executing a clean shot after a two-year hiatus.
"Good to be back after a 2-year break! #fore," she captioned her Instagram post.
Her post drew the attention of Michael Phelps, who commented on the it.
"Yes!!" Phelps wrote.
Phelps started golfing after initially retiring from swimming in 2012. However, he consistently played the sport after his eventual retirement in 2016 and recently finished second, only behind legendary hockey player Wayne Gretzky, at The Match Superstars.

Besides playing tennis, Caroline Wozniacki also tries her hand at different sports. In an Instagram post from two months ago, the former World No. 1 was seen acing basketball hoop shots while her children Olivia and James tried to emulate her.
"Good defense, better offense," her caption read.
The post prompted Michael Phelps to ask who would win in a face-off between Caroline Wozniacki and her husband, David Lee.
"Yes!!! Gotta ask… who wins.. you or @davidlee ?!?" he said.
Lee's response asserted that Wozniacki's hoop shots might make her win in the coming days.
"Debatable at this point"
The Dane responded with a couple of teary-eyed emojis to the hilarious exchange between the former basketball player and Phelps.
Wozniacki and Lee welcomed their daughter, Olivia, in June 2021 and son, James, in October 2022.
