Jordan Bowers recently received praise from multiple gymnasts following her retirement from gymnastics. Bowers announced her retirement after securing the 2025 NCAA Gymnastics Championships in her senior year.
Bowers joined the Sooners in 2022 and has competed at the senior elite level competitions in addition to her collegiate journey. She dominated the all-around event to earn her career's milestone victory at the 2025 NCAA Championships. Following her remarkable journey, Bowers decided to hang up her leotard and informed fans about it on Instagram.
She penned a brief message, highlighting the impact of sport on her life and expressed her gratitude towards her coaches, the program, family, teammates, and fellow Sooner and her fiancé Raydel Gamboa. The gymnast received immense love and adoration from other gymnasts, including former LSU star Olivia Dunne who expressed her admiration while reflecting on their memories.
"Queen 4ever," Dunne wrote. "From rooming at camps together to competing against each other in the SEC…. It was amazing to watch you grow into the person you are today💗✨proud of you."
The 2022 NCAA all-around champion Trinity Thomas also expressed her pride in her.
"Proud of you ❤️," Thomas chimed in.
"You are incredible ❤️❤️," Olympic gold medalist Jade Carey expressed.
LSU freshman Kailin Chio also penned her praise.
"So amazing!! proud of you."
Aleah Finnegan, who concluded her career with LSU following the 2025 championships drafted a heartwarming message for Bowers.
"What a pleasure it has been to watch you flourish in this sport. The sweetest heart and kindest soul. I am so thankful this sport brought us together. Forever proud of you and the legacy that you left. I love you!❣️❣️"

Jordan Bowers reveals her future plans after retiring from gymnastics

Jordan Bowers announced her retirement from the sport after her fifth year with the Oklahoma Sooners. Along with her retirement, she also revealed her plan to stay connected with the program as a student strength & conditioning coach.
"Dear Gymnastics, the final bow❤️ The past 20 years have been everything I could’ve dreamed of and more," Bowers wrote. "I am so excited to help athletes achieve their dreams by becoming a student strength & conditioning coach here at OU! BOOMER SOONER FOREVER!☝🏼"
Along with topping the all-around event, Bowers secured a gold, silver, and bronze medal in team, floor, and uneven bars, respectively, at the 2025 NCAA Championships.
