Sha'Carri Richardson once reflected on what advice she would give to aspiring female athletes willing to take up the sport. In an interview for Cosmpolitan.com conducted in July 2024, the Olympic champion sprinter said:
“I will definitely tell any young woman or anyone out there, honestly, just believe in yourself. Once you believe in yourself, you can put the work in behind it. I know a lot of people say your dreams are only wishful thinking when you don't put it into words.”
Richardson added:
“I will definitely say just working hard for what you want and putting in the effort and believing in yourself. It will come full circle. And also have fun! Never, never, never not have fun.”
Sha'Carri Richardson made her Olympic debut at the quadrennial event in Paris after missing out on the Tokyo Olympics due to a one-month suspension. The 25-year-old sprinter won a silver medal in the women's 100m finals and a gold medal alongside Twanisha Terry, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, and Gabby Thomas in the women's 4x100m relay finals.
