Olympic gymnasts Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles have been nominated for the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in the Favourite Female Sports Star category. The star-studded list of nominees includes Coco Gauff, Sha’Carri Richardson, Naomi Osaka, Alex Morgan, Angel Reese, and Caitlin Clark. The winners will be announced during the Nickelodeon Awards show on Saturday, June 21.

Simone Biles is the most decorated US gymnast, with a total of 38 medals spanning the Olympics and World Championships. Beyond her athletic achievements, she is also known for her advocacy for mental health.

Meanwhile, Jordan Chiles is a two-time Olympian and has also earned gold medals at the 2023 Pan American Games and the 2018 Pacific Rim Championships. The 24-year-old recently winded the 2025 NCAA season and is gearing up for the upcoming season with the UCLA Bruins.

Both athletes contributed to the US women’s gymnastics team’s gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Beyond being training partners, Biles and Chiles share a deep friendship. After Chiles’ Olympic debut, Biles gifted her a necklace with Olympic rings. Notably, Chiles has mentioned Biles as “a big sister to her,” as per NBC Olympics.

Simone Biles has had an eventful year, having received several major honours, including the Laureus Sportswoman of the Year, SI Sportsperson of the Year, an honorary doctorate from WashU, a Webby Award, and the TIME 100 Impact Award.

In an episode of the Recharge with David Ko podcast, Jordan Chiles shared about the value in changing the culture of the sport, much like Simone Biles has done. Chiles expressed pride in her impact on gymnastics culture, noting that while Simone Biles "changed the game", she has helped "change the culture".

"I didn't come into the sport to shy away from who Jordan Chiles is. I came to exude it in a way to understand, like, 'Look, no matter what I'm doing, no matter what I'm trying to show, I'm always going to be authentic to who I am.' So, I think it's really cool that being able to change the culture is like saying, 'Simone changed the game.' People say this all the time," she shared [6:37 onwards].
"Simone [Biles] changed the game, Jordan changed the culture, and I think it's really cool that I had this opportunity to do that. I definitely am proud of myself for understanding who I am as a person and that I get to show that to the younger generation," Chiles added.
