Athletes around the world gear up for another outdoor track and field tournament as the USATF Bermuda Grand Prix is back again at the Flora Duffy Stadium on Sunday (April 28).

The tournament will provide for an elite level of competition across all the events in the roster. However, the one event that will catch the attention of the fan's will be the men's 100m especially with its star studded entry list which includes the six-time World Championships gold medalist Noah Lyles and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Aaron Brown.

Lyles (personal best 9.83 seconds) will enter the 100m sprint of the USATF Bermuda Grand Prix 2024 as the clear favorite, especially with the prowess he has shown in recent years. His performances at the recently concluded Tom Jones Memorial Invitational were also top-notch as he clinched his first outdoor victory of the season.

Lyles' major competitor at the event will be the Canadian sprinter Aaron Brown (personal best 9.96 seconds). Brown's experience in the discipline will be a major positive for him as he looks to take the field against Lyles. However, Brown hasn't tasted a substantial level of success in the 100m event unlike his nemesis in the tournament, Noah Lyles.

Other major title contenders in the 100m event of the USATF Bermuda Grand Prix include the 2023 Budapest Word Championship gold medalist in 4*100m relays J.T Smith (personal best 10.02 seconds) and the 23-year-old sprinter from California Pjai Austin (personal best 9.89 seconds).

To pay tribute to the grit and determination of Bermuda's participants at the 2023 Berlin Special Olympics, the Bermuda Special Olympics board has arranged for a celebratory event at the USATF Bermuda Grand Prix.

This special event will take place between 3:45 PM BST to 4:30 PM BST during which Bermuda's Special Olympic track and field participants will showcase their skillsets. Regarding this huge opportunity for the Special Olympics participants, the board chairman of Bermuda Special Olympics, Sacha Richardson told Bernews:

"We jumped on the invitation because it’s such an excellent opportunity for our athletes. A big draw for us is that it’s in Bermuda. The Penn Relays and the Carifta Games were also great opportunities, but we’ve never previously had a chance to compete at this level at home."
