Former American Olympic gymnast MyKayla Skinner recently marked her return to social media following a month-long hiatus due to cyberbullying. She received backlash and hate comments on her accounts for making controversial remarks about the US women's gymnastics team chosen for the Paris Olympics.

Skinner garnered scrutiny from fans and the gymnastics community for questioning the work ethic and the depth of talent on the US women's team, with the exception of Simone Biles. She made the remarks during a watch party she hosted on her YouTube channel while the US Olympic Trials were underway. However, the 27-year-old apologized to the gymnasts and fans later, claiming that her statement was misunderstood.

Despite her apology and self-reflection, she once again came under fire when the American team won the all-around title in Paris. Following their victory, MyKayla Skinner posted a video on her social media accounts and urged fans to stop bullying her and her family and also requested Simone Biles for her support. The Gilbert-based gymnast posted the video on August 6 and stepped away immediately.

In a recent update MyKayla Skinner returned to the social platforms on Tuesday, Spetember 10 and posted pictures with her husband and daughter accompanied with a heartwarming caption.

"Taking a break from social media has helped my heart to heal in so many ways. I have been able to really focus on the things that are important to me. I have been so blessed with having the most amazing husband who lifts me up through tough times and a beautiful daughter who is my best friend and my whole world," she wrote.
"I know God has a plan for all of us and puts us through trials that sometimes we may never understand but being able to lean on him and pray for comfort has been the biggest blessing the past few months. I’m so grateful for this beautiful world Heavenly Father created and for the amazing people who have been in my life to carry me through. I know I’m not perfect and I never will be but I will always strive to be the best that I can be," she added.

Skinner went on to add a token of appreciation for her husband, thanking him for being 'patient' and sharing the burdens in her life.

"I will never forget the day I got to marry my best friend and couldn’t wait to start my life with you. Watching us make mistakes, learn, grow, become parents, and love each other no matter what challenges we face. I’m grateful to have done it all with you. Excited to be back and share my precious little life moments with you all. Thanks for being patient & being a part of my life!" she said.
