Podcaster Perez Hilton weighed in on the latest developments in the high-profile legal battle between actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. In a June 10, 2025, video on his YouTube channel, Hilton addressed the dismissal of Baldoni’s $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, hinting the actor may still have “one big card” left to play, despite the recent ruling being against him.
"The Baldoni parties have one big card still up their sleeve. And I’m almost afraid to say it out loud because I don’t want them hearing my brilliant idea," Hilton remarked.
According to the latest CNN News report, in a ruling issued on June 9, 2025, Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed Justin Baldoni’s $400 million defamation countersuit filed against Blake Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, Leslie Sloane, and The New York Times. However, the judge granted Baldoni a chance to amend and refile specific allegations against Lively by June 23, 2025.
Commenting on this legal situation, Hilton stated that Justin Baldoni and his team had "more to lose than gain" by continuing the court fight at this stage.
Instead, Perez Hilton detailed a smarter move for the Jane the Virgin actor that would move "the court of public opinion" in his favor. He advised Baldoni to wait until Lively withdrew her claims, arguing she, too, had "nothing to gain" by moving forward, and then reveal all evidence against the actress on the lawsuitinfo.com website.
"As soon as she withdraws her claims because she too now has nothing to gain with going forward… he should go back on that website, the lawsuitinfo.com, and drop all the receipts...the new information and evidence they got in Discovery...Any other footage from the movie that shows that she lied, dump it on the website," Hilton remarked.
Bryan Freedman responds to the dismissal of Justin Baldoni's $400M defamation lawsuit against Blake Lively

Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, recently addressed the dismissal of the actor's $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively. In an exclusive statement that he gave to The Wrap on June 10, 2025, the attorney clarified that the legal battle was far from over.
In his statement, Freedman emphasized that while the court had dismissed the defamation-related claims, it had simultaneously allowed them to amend four out of the seven claims filed. He further asserted that the court’s decision was not an exoneration but a refinement process.
"Ms. Lively and her team’s predictable declaration of victory is false, so let us be clear about the latest ruling. While the court dismissed the defamation-related claims, the court has invited us to amend four out of the seven claims against Ms. Lively, which will showcase additional evidence and refined allegations," he said.
Justin Baldoni’s lawyer further said that the heart of the lawsuit lay in what he described as “false accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation and a nonexistent smear campaign.” According to the attorney, Blake Lively’s legal team had described the alleged smear campaign as “untraceable”—a term he argued reflected the absence of actual evidence.
Freedman also clarified that Baldoni’s legal team planned to move forward with determination.
"Most importantly, Ms. Lively’s own claims are no truer today than they were yesterday, and with the facts on our side, we march forward with the same confidence that we had when Ms. Lively and her cohorts initiated this battle and look forward to her forthcoming deposition, which I will be taking," he added.
Freedman also expressed appreciation for what he called the "organic show of support" from the public and online commentators, particularly the "Internet sleuth community" for continuing "to cover the case with discernment and integrity".
As per the report, Freedman’s statement came after Blake Lively on June 9, 2025, addressed the lawsuit’s dismissal via her Instagram Story.
In her statement, Lively reflected on broader concerns surrounding women’s rights and the use of legal action to intimidate women. She also stated she had "stood proudly" with 19 organizations supporting women’s right to "speak up for their safety".
The actress further acknowledged the emotional toll of the "retaliatory lawsuit" and the "manufactured shame" often accompanying such legal challenges.
"While the suit against me was defeated, so many don’t have the resources to fight back. I’m more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman’s right to have a voice in protecting themselves, including their safety, their integrity, their dignity, and their story," Blake Lively added.
Although Justin Baldoni’s case was dismissed, Blake Lively is still pursuing her December 2024 sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Baldoni. The trial for this lawsuit is scheduled for March 9, 2026.
