Miley Cyrus's brother Trace Cyrus attacked their father publicly in an Instagram post on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The 36-year-old American musician denounced his father in the online rant for not attending his grandmother’s funeral back in the year 2020.
After Trace Cyrus shared a post blasting his father on Instagram, American blogger and columnist Perez Hilton posted a video reaction on his YouTube channel. The internet personality slammed the Shake It singer for his public “outburst” against Billy Ray Cyrus and said:
“This is not very godly. This is very toxic. It's unclear what prompted this outburst, but I think it's lame. How is this helping things? I think he's attention-seeking. And remember how Trace accused his dad of struggling with things, wouldn't surprise me actually if Trace is struggling with things. And this is a manifestation of that. Awful awful awful.”

In his June 10, 2025 YouTube video, Perez Hilton also detailed that Trace Cyrus is not the biological son of Billy Ray Cyrus. His biological parents are reportedly Baxter Neal Helson and Billy’s ex-wife, Tish. Notably, the 63-year-old country singer adopted him, and Trace took the last name Cyrus.

Miley Cyrus opened up on Lewinsky’s podcast that “just to get each other into a room to get to counseling would have been a war." The singer also recalled how the Cyrus clan has been through a difficult “dark decade.”
Miley, as per Page Six, also talked about how half of her family were not speaking to each other “at one point” and that she had stayed loyal to her mom, Tish, during her high-profile divorce with Billy Ray Cyrus in 2022.
