Meet the cast of Gold Rush: White Water season 9
1) Dustin Hurt
The crew's leader is Dustin Hurt, who works as a gold miner, dredge diver, airboat driver, and dredge tender. He began gold mining with his father, Fred Hurt, one of the first Dakota Boys. Following his experience, he now runs his crew and oversees the operations of the team. During winters, he works in construction to fund his mining operations.
2) Carlos Minor

Carlos Minor is a former military man and commercial diver. He served in the U.S. Marines for 15 years, including as a drill instructor, and subsequently had a 13-year career as an oil platform diver working in the Gulf of Mexico.
On Gold Rush: White Water, Carlos acts as a dredge diver and dredge tender, applying his training to oversee high-pressure underwater operations. His experience shapes the way he enforces safety and discipline in diving operations.
3) Wes Richardson

Wes Richardson functions as a gold miner, fabricator, airboat operator, mechanic, and gold cleaner. He is the brother of Paul Richardson and part of the duo often referred to as "The Texans." His task involves maintaining equipment and handling mechanical repairs, which are crucial to supporting the team’s continuous dredging efforts.
4) Paul Richardson

Paul Richardson is a dredge diver and fabricator who works closely with his brother, Wes. He also operates as a dredge tender and is responsible for underwater excavation tasks. Paul is married to Kayla Sheets and forms part of the team’s core labor force, especially when it comes to building and maintaining tools and dredging systems.
5) James Hamm

James Hamm is a Washington-based gold miner and professional dredge diver with five years of experience working offshore in the Bering Sea near Nome, Alaska. Known as the “Gold Hound,” James joined Dustin’s crew to support underwater recovery operations.
His skills also include off-road driving and operating airboats, which are needed for accessing difficult terrain and supporting logistics.
Dustin’s crew faces a major obstacle on the Gold Rush: White Water season 9 latest episode
In episode 3, titled Man Overboard, which aired on May 9, 2025, the team continued mining operations at Nugget Creek. The episode began with the crew focusing on the same dive hole where a gold nugget was previously found. The white water current made it difficult to proceed, so the team constructed a wall of rocks above the hole to reduce the water speed.
Dustin Hurt, unable to dive due to a hand injury, supervised while the crew used a pulley system to move larger rocks. Carlos Minor noted that their double dredge setup would increase efficiency. As the wall lowered the water level, a large boulder was discovered beneath the surface.
The Gold Rush: White Water cast decided to remove the boulder by blasting it apart. After clearing debris, the water began changing color, prompting the team to pause operations and resume at another time.
