The Real Housewives of Potomac released episode 8, Healing, Thriving, and Surviving, on Sunday, November 24, 2024. It featured an emotional discussion between Ashley and her family members about her upcoming divorce from her husband, Michael Darby.

Ashley revealed she had hired a mediator and would soon finalize the divorce. However, she started to cry thinking about seeing Michael for the last time as her husband. She worried about her children's future, knowing it would be difficult for them to grow up without a father figure. Ashley felt nervous about planning every step of their lives, from everyday activities to gathering tuition fees.

In contrast, her family encouraged her to look ahead and remind herself how unhappy she was with him. However, Ashley feared Michael would retaliate and push her into a corner. She mentioned it would be challenging to discuss Michael's infidelity during the mediation along with everything else that went wrong with their relationship.

The Real Housewives of Potomac fans took to X to react to Ashley's conversation with her family. While some criticized her for crying over Michael, others praised her family for motivating her to move on.

The Real Housewives of Potomac: Uncle Lump believes Ashley's divorce is a "good thing"

When Ashley revealed that her divorce would get finalized after she met with the mediator, one of her family members warned her about how hostile the aftermath would be. She urged her to "prepare for the worst," reminding The Real Housewives of Potomac star that she would have to bear the financial burden of all her children's activities.

Ashley was grateful for her advice, however, she struggled to overlook the "finality" of her relationship. She got emotional reminiscing about her marriage and how the divorce meeting would be the last time she would see Michael as her husband.

Uncle Lump consoled Ashley and said:

"Well, I think it's a good thing. You have kids together, you'll see him often. He's gonna remind you of this good decision that you've made."

While speaking to the cameras, The Real Housewives of Potomac star confessed she was apprehensive about divorcing Michael because she feared he might retaliate and cause her problems. She added she felt unprepared to encounter him, however, the "unpredictable nature and volatility" of her relationship motivated her to spearhead the process.

Ashley revealed she would have to discuss Michael's infidelity among other things during the procedure. However, she was not too keen on reliving the trauma. Uncle Lump encouraged her not to be afraid since she had proof against him. He mentioned Michael got involved with a younger woman because he could "control" her, which he could not do with Ashley.
