"Is Amaya okay?"— Love Island USA fans react to islander arguing with Chelley over Ace

Love Island USA season 7 aired its eighth episode this week on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The episode showcased escalating tensions between Amaya and Chelley after the bombshell voiced her frustrations about Chelley and Ace's chemistry.

Amaya was upset that her partner, Ace, hugged Chelley goodnight but refused to give her a hug when she asked for one. Amaya felt that Chelley was being messy and dishonest, but fans thought otherwise.

The online audience commented on Amaya's argument with Chelley and felt that she was fighting with the wrong person. One person wrote on X:

"Amaya I will pluck them green eye contact if you talk to chelley like this ever again," a fan commented.

"Amaya, WHO YOU GETTING BUCK WITH? press the man who picked you because Chelley is not chasing Ace," a tweet read.

Love Island USA fans held Ace responsible for the conflict between Amaya and Chelley.

"What pi**es me off with ace is, you literally had the opportunity to couple up with chelley, you chose amaya instead, and amaya put you in your place so NOW you want to do yoga and sht with chelley like??" a person wrote.

"Ace hugs Chelley and Amaya happens to be walking by, Amaya looks back and forth and ask ace if he’s going to hug her good night and this man says “NAH”. They way I just screamed omg," a fan commented.

"ace is genuinely a cornball for choosing amaya, hoping to make chelley feel a way, seeing she didn’t gaf and then immediately being an a**hole to amaya and basically gaslighting her," a tweet read.

Fans of Love Island USA season 7 further said:

Amaya questions Chelley about her and Ace's equation in Love Island USA season 7 episode 8

In Love Island USA season 7 episode 8, Amaya questioned Chelley about what was happening between her and Ace. She recalled the two hugging the previous night and said that she felt things had been "a little messy" lately.

Chelley clarified that when Amaya came in, she had told the bombshell about her connection with Ace, but she emphasized that she was "genuinely" interested in Austin and that he was her connection.

The Love Island USA season 7 star added that she was clear from the beginning that she would pursue Ace, but not in a "messy" way. Amaya told Chelley that she felt the latter was being "messy as f*ck" and said that she believed the female cast members were friends. Chelley asked if Amaya could let her finish what she was trying to say and pointed out that she was constantly talking over her.

"I felt it was a little weird to me, like he was open, but you didn't make it aware to me," Amaya added.

Although Chelley tried to explain her point, Amaya interrupted and reminded her that they spoke all the time and that the Love Island USA season 7 star had "so many" opportunities to tell her. Chelley responded that nothing had changed, while Amaya argued that the female cast member wasn't being genuine.

Other islanders, including the other bombshell who entered the villa, Hannah, attempted to intervene, but Amaya persisted by stating that although she was a sweet person, she wasn't naive.

"I'm not stupid and I pick up on things very well," she added.

Amaya said Ace was "very picky" about his boundaries with "certain people," and it seemed like he only had boundaries with her. She told Chelley she could have Ace and "run off into the sunset."
