When will Survivor 49 air? Release date, what to expect, and more explored

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Survivor 49 is all set to premiere on September 24, 2025 (Wednesday) at 8 pm ET on CBS. It will be available on the Paramount+ app for streaming from the next day, releasing one episode every week. The show will follow its "New Era" norms by continuing the 90-minute episode format after its two-hour-long premiere episode.

Survivor 49 will air in fall 2025, followed by Survivor 50 in spring 2026. Host Jeff Probst says season 50 will bring back legendary players from season 1 (2000) through season 48.

Season 49, filmed in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands, will run for 26 days, though its finale date is not confirmed. While the full cast hasn’t been announced, promotional videos reveal contestants Alex Moore, Sage Ahrens-Nichols, Rizo Velovic, and Nate Moore.

With season 48’s finale on May 21, 2025, Survivor reached 700 episodes. Kyle Fraser won the 12-week competition, beating challengers Eva Erickson, Jeo Hunter, Kamilia Karthigesu, and Shauhin Davari. A sneak peek of season 49 was also shown during the finale.

The highlight seems more quirky, and the location is mysterious and extremely hot. Following the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, experimentation with 90-minute episodes was introduced in season 45 of Survivor.
