Love Island UK season 12 episode 2 premiered on ITV on June 10. The episode picked up from the cliffhanger of the previous installment, where Shakira was left without a partner and had very little time to choose someone to couple with or she might have to leave the villa.
Shakira wasted no time and chatted with some of the guys she was interested in to see if they felt the same. However, when she sat down to talk with Dejon, his partner Meg visibly got worried that Shakira might sway him away from her.
Later, Meg approached Dejon and asked how his conversation with Shakira went. Without wasting any time, Dejon reassured his Love Island UK partner that he had no feelings for Shakira and that she had nothing to worry about.

"It was a fine chat. But I wanted to speak to you actually. You haven't got anything to worry about," Dejon told Meg.
Love Island UK star Meg feels at ease after having a conversation with Dejon
In Love Island UK season 12 episode 2, single contestant Shakira had to find a partner before the end of the day; otherwise, she would be eliminated from the show. After observing Dejon's interest, she pulled him aside at the fireplace for a conversation, contemplating a possible relationship between them.
Dejon initiated the conversation by asking Shakira if she had been in a relationship before. She replied that she had been in a couple of relationships but noted that the issue she often faced in most of them was that they didn't last as long as she hoped.
In response, Dejon mentioned that he had also been in several relationships, but he added that his heart desired something more than just casual encounters with different girls. Later, when he asked his fellow Love Island UK star if she had her eyes on anyone in the villa, she said that she was confused.
"You know what? I don't even know anymore. I feel like the game has flipped. Yeah, it seems like it's open season for everyone. So, I think I'm going to speak to everyone, but I definitely got good vibes from you. You surprised me." she said.
While all this was happening, Dejon noticed that Meg was closely watching the two of them, clearly looking worried.
"I might have a hole in my jacket now, because I can just feel Meg's eyes just piercing and just burning at me as we were having the conversation," Dejon shared in his confessional.
After finishing his conversation with Shakira, Dejon felt he needed to talk to Meg and reassure her that there was nothing between them and she had nothing to worry about.
When the Love Island UK star gave her that assurance, Meg thanked him, admitting that she needed the reassurance to feel more at ease. Dejon also emphasized that it was important for everyone in the villa to get to know each other on at least a basic level.
Meg agreed, acknowledging how crucial it was for contestants to build connections and communicate with everyone in the villa.
"We've all been here less than a day, so everyone has to speak to everyone. You're not safe. I could be going home tomorrow. You could have someone just sit right in your arms next to me," Meg told Dejon.
