Kevin opened by posing a question many people often wonder about: Is it better to marry rich or build wealth together?

His answer, which he believed would surprise many of his fans, leaned strongly toward the latter, emphasizing that building wealth together is often the foundation of the strongest and most successful marriages.

"You may be surprised at my answer and here it is. Build it together. That's the bond that ties some of the greatest marriages," he said.

Taking his relationship with his wife as an example, the Shark Tank star shared that they had nothing when they came together.

They had to serve pizza and beer at their wedding as they couldn't afford anything else.

However, Kevin added that they were eventually able to build their lives together, which they are proud of, as it helped them stay together.

The Shark Tank star emphasized that strong relationships are held together by both family and financial stability. He believes people can't build a family without money, referring to money as a "family member."

Kevin concluded that if a couple is successful and isn't outspending too much on each other, then their relationship is likely to last for a very long time.

He then ended the video saying, "It's L'amour with the cash flow," and giving a toast to love and marriage.

Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary suggests saving/investing the money allotted for wedding ceremonies

Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary dated his now wife, Linda O’Leary, for six years before getting married on March 17, 1990.

Instead of spending a fortune on their wedding ceremony like most couples, they chose to save it and instead invited friends and family over for some beer and pizza.

In a January 25, 2018, interview with CNBC Make It, reflecting on his marriage, Kevin suggested saving money by skipping hosting an elaborate event.

Before his wedding, the Shark Tank star shared that he had a conversation with his to-be wife and suggested the idea of having a pizza party instead of going into debt for their ceremony.

The idea worked, and Kevin claims that they were able to save a "fortune," which he was then able to use in his business to grow it.

“I said to my wife, ‘Why go in debt?’ Let’s invite our friends over, let’s buy a few cases of beer and I’ll order some pizza. We saved a fortune. I was able to put it in my business to start growing it,” he said.

Kevin noted that when an individual is starting out their life, the worst thing they could do is put themselves in debt for their wedding.

While he admitted that it was a romantic idea and gesture to spend a lot of money on the big occasion, he believes it's still crazy to do so.

“Forget about spending a fortune, you don’t need a white dress for $22,000. Save your money, invest it and later you can take everybody out for a great time on the interest you’re making off your bonds and the dividends your stocks are paying,” the Shark Tank star added.

The O'Leary group's founder concluded that the whole idea was to remember you were building for your future.

He urged against going into debt and instead suggested saving and investing in different mediums to secure themselves for the future.
