Who did Jason Weaver voice in the original Lion King? Actor showers North West with praises following Disney's live concert

Jason Weaver is all praises about Kim Kardashian’s eldest daughter, North West, who performed I Just Can’t Wait to Be King, at Disney’s live concert, The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl. The event took place on Friday and Saturday, that is, on May 24, and 25, 2024. In the concert, North West voiced young Simba and garnered a lot of attention.

Jason Weaver, the singing voice of the Young Simba in the original film, showered words of praise for the budding artist. He hopped on to social media and shared a picture of him with North West wearing a Simba costume. With the photo, Jason posted:

“What an honour it is to share the same stage with this young superstar in the making!! I’m so PROUD of you, North!! You’re doing such a PHENOMENAL job in this show! I can’t wait for people to see your performance of “I just can’t wait to be king,” when “The Lion King 30th Anniversary Celebration” eventually starts streaming on Disney Plus.”

He continued:

“You’re a true professional, and I wish you nothing but the best as you continue your journey towards greatness!! Let’s run it back one more time for em tonight!!”

The original Lion King was released in 1994, in which Jason Weaver provided the young Simba’s singing voice. Others like Matthew Broderick voiced Simba, Jeremy Irons lent his voice for Scar, and James Earl Jones provided the voice for Mufasa.

Kim Kardashian shares North West’s pictures who voiced young Simba at The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl

As North West performed at The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl, she was joined by her mother, Kim Kardashian, siblings Saint Chicago and Psalm, grandmother Kris Jenner, and aunt and uncle, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker.

Kim Kardashian also sharedpictures of North from the event, where she can be seen wearing the Simba suit and singing on the stage.

Jason Weaver also joined North on the stage. Others who were a part of the event were Heather Headley and Lebo M. Other original cast members like Billy Eichner, Bradley Gibson, Ernie Sabella, Jason Weaver, Jeremy Irons and Nathan Lane were also seen at the event performing.

This is not North West’s first singing project. She was recently seen in a music video for her father, Kanye West’s song, Only One. Furthermore, she also accompanied her mom in the reality TV series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Apart from this, she also voiced Mini in Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie. At the same time, North West also rapped in his father and Ty Dolla Sign’s song, Talking/ Over Again, for which she received a lot of praise.

The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl was held over the weekend, however, the premier date has not been announced as of now. Furthermore, the producers of the event have stated that the concert was filmed for a Disney+ original special which will be aired at a later date.
