The Agency on Paramount+: Full list of cast

The Agency is set to premiere on Friday, November 29, with a two-episode launch on Paramount+ with Showtime. It will then arrive on the revamped Showtime TV channel. The spy thriller series has been written and developed by Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth, known for Ford v Ferrari and Edge of Tomorrow.

BAFTA-winning filmmaker Joe Wright, known for directing Pride & Prejudice and Atonement, directed the first two episodes, while Showtime Studios produced the series in association with 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment Studios. Furthermore, Hollywood heavyweights George Clooney and Grant Heslov are executive-producing The Agency under their Smokehouse Pictures banner.

1) Michael Fassbender as Martian

Michael Fassbender, a two-time Oscar nominee for 12 Years a Slave and Steve Jobs, plays the role of the covert CIA agent caught between a rekindled romance and his professional obligations.

Fassbender is well-known for his performances in the X-Men series and Shame. In 2023, after a four-year break from show business, he returned with The Killer and Next Goal Wins. The Agency marks his return to TV as a lead after 15 years since 2008.

2) Jeffrey Wright as Henry

Jeffrey Wright plays the character of Henry, the operations director for the CIA and a mentor for Martian. Wright was nominated for an Oscar for American Fiction and received a Tony Award for his role in Angels in America, a Broadway production in 1993.

He is widely known for his work in Westworld and The Batman. Wright also played Jean-Michel Basquiat in Basquiat, and Felix Leiter in the James Bond films Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

3) Richard Gere as Bosko

Veteran actor Richard Gere plays Bosko, the seasoned London Station Chief. Gere is known for his iconic performances in movies like Pretty Woman and Chicago. Gere has been nominated for Golden Globes four times and was awarded one in the 'Best Actor' category for Chicago (2003). He also received the Eleanor Roosevelt Humanitarian Award for his humanitarian efforts.

4) Katherine Waterston as Naomi

Katherine Waterston takes on the role of Naomi in The Agency, however, information about the character remains under wraps. Waterston portrayed a complicated part in Fantastic Beasts while playing Tina Goldstein. She is also known for her critically acclaimed performances in Inherent Vice and Alien: Covenant.

Waterston built up a reputation for transitioning from independent productions to highly budgeted movies seamlessly. She comes from a family of actors; she's the daughter of veteran actor Sam Waterson and a sibling of Elisabeth Waterston.

5) Jodie Turner-Smith as Sami Zahir

Jodie Turner-Smith portrays Sami Zahir, a character defined by emotional beats and fearless choices. The actress is known for her standout performance in Queen & Slim, which received critical acclaim.

Smith initially wanted to practice law but eventually shifted to an acting career after modeling. In The Agency, audiences can expect to see vulnerability as well as fragility in Sami's character arcs.
