As reported by Concord Minor, Terry Rasmussen was dating a woman named Marlyse Honeychurch in 1978. She was last seen on Thanksgiving Day in La Puente, California. Reportedly, Honeychurch argued with her family and left the residence with her six-year-old daughter named Marie Elizabeth Vaughn and her infant daughter Sarah Lynn McWaters. They were never seen alive again.
Reportedly, it was on November 10, 1985, when authorities discovered the bodies of Honeychurch and her infant daughter Marie Vaughn inside a wooden barrel in Bear Brook State Park, located in Allenstown, New Hampshire. As reported by ABC News, upon forensic examination, it was discovered that the victims suffered blunt force trauma to the head, leading to their deaths.

As reported by Concord Minor, a second barrel was found containing the body of an unidentified child, identified as Sarah McWaters, on May 9, 2000. Reportedly, it was in 2019 when the victim's identities were confirmed with DNA examination. However, she disappeared in June of the same year, and her remains were later found buried in their home.
