Will Grace’s character appear in the final episodes of 9-1-1 Lone Star? Showrunner confirms character’s appearance status

Grace Ryder was one of the key characters of 9-1-1 Lone Star, played by Sierra McClain. She was married to Judd Ryder and had one kid, Charlie. She worked as a 9-1-1 dispatcher in Austin, Texas.

As per the current storyline of this 9-1-1: Lone Star, many fans were wondering if she might appear in the show’s final episodes. This is mainly because it is titled Fall From Grace.

However, the showrunner, Rashad Raisani has confirmed that she will not appear in the final episodes or any of the remaining season 5 episodes of 9-1-1 Lone Star as shared with TVLine. He said the character won't appear and "not for lack of trying."

Despite attempts to rehire her, McClain's resignation due to wage conflicts keeps her from returning. Sierra McClain's character, Grace, made her debut in season one. She went on a mission trip in season five.

Rashad Raisani is the showrunner for 9-1-1 Lone Star. He has stated that Grace Ryder will not appear in the show's final episodes. McClain exited the series following the season 5 premiere due to a disagreement with the studio. Raisani stated that the production team did not have access to McClain and knew from the start that she would not be returning.

Despite not appearing on screen, Grace's absence nevertheless affects the program, especially on Jim Parrack's character Judd Ryder. Raisani clarified that the last episodes would center on Grace's impact, which is significant to Judd's journey. At the end of the episode, Judd's battle with her absence will be portrayed.

The final episode, titled Fall From Grace has two meanings. It represents Judd's emotional condition. This also implies a big dispute between Carlos Reyes and Ranger Campbell.

The last season of 9-1-1 Lone Star will delve into themes of grief, perseverance, and atonement. This is done with Grace's legacy playing an important role in the plot.


The cast of 9-1-1 Lone Star

9-1-1 Lone Star follows the lives of Austin, Texas, first responders. Premiered in January 2020, the fifth and final season following four successful seasons, began in September 2024 and will end in February 2025.

The main cast of the show includes Rob Lowe as Owen Strand. He is the fireman captain who relocates from New York City to Austin to rebuild the 126 station. As a first responder with lung cancer, Owen concentrates on building a solid new team.

Following previous battles with addiction, his son, TK Strand (Ronen Rubinstein), is a paramedic and firefighter who is trying to stay sober. Judd Ryder (Jim Parrack), a fireman who survived the fire that killed the previous 126 crew, and Grace Ryder (Sierra McClain), a 9-1-1 dispatcher and Judd's wife, are two other key characters.

The show also stars Marjan Marwani (Natacha Karam), an upbeat fireman and social media influencer, and Paul Strickland (Brian Michael Smith), a transgender firefighter. In later seasons, The series features guest stars and characters who cross over from 9-1-1.
