According to the latest developments from an interview with Deadline dated July 11, 2024, CBS Studios President David Stapf made comments suggesting a positive outlook for the possibility of Your Honor season 3. Speaking to the publication, Stapf mentioned the possibility while cautioning viewers not to jump to conclusions. He said:

Fans see a glimmer of hope for Your Honor season 3 after David Stapf's comments

After airing on Showtime and streaming on Paramount Plus, Your Honor found a new lease on life on Netflix. On the streaming platform, the show reached new heights of popularity, repeatedly breaking streaming records. The newfound success on the platform did not go unnoticed by those involved in bringing the show to life.

In the previously mentioned interview with Deadline, CBS Studios President David Stapf commented on the popularity of the show:

"We’re extremely proud of the show and knew how good it was. Having it air on another platform, we anticipated more people discovering it; audiences always find things that are good."

He also spoke about Bryan Cranston's role (Michael Desiato) in ensuring the show's success. Stapf added:

"Bryan has been a really terrific partner, not only as a producer and an actor, but more importantly as somebody who’s been advocating for the show."

Stapf's comments come after Cranston has been observed actively promoting the show on his social media.

Additionally, in the Deadline interview, Stapf seemingly confirmed plans to make Your Honor season 3. However, he also cautioned against taking his comments at face value. With that being said, fans are excited to see what lies ahead of them for this fan-favorite show.

Why did Your Honor season 3 never happen before?

Your Honor was originally meant to be a limited series, meaning that the show was supposed to end with season 1. However, after the show received massive popularity on Showtime, the makers decided to revive it for a second season. Despite its initial popularity, the second season was not as well received as the first.

Given that television ratings are the primary parameters used for deciding if a show will continue or not, Showtime thought it was best to put a full stop to the series.

Additionally, the primary characters received closure in terms of their storylines. While Cranston's son, Adam Desiato, played by Hunter Doohan, had died by the end of season one, Cranston's character was behind bars by the end of season 2. Therefore, continuing beyond that would imply a complete re-invention of the storyline.

While viewers wait for another update on Your Honor Season 3, they can catch up on seasons 1 and 2, currently streaming on Netflix.
